Overview of 1970 Ford Mustang Convertible Tribute For Sale by Owner

From the Fifties to the current era, muscle cars have been the definition of pure, raw, American automotive performance. A definition best justified by the Ford Mustang. Before the Ford GT, The Mustang served as Ford's halo car and is a proud testament to their success. This 1970 Ford Mustang Cobra Convertible Tribute has a rather interesting story. It is said that the car has an original Mach 1 body, with its entire paint job and 'Tribute' work being done by Ford themselves. Either way, there's no denying that the car is in absolutely sublime condition and is currently seeking a new home.

Exterior and Interior

This 1970 Ford Shelby Mustang Cobra Tribute convertible is reported to have an original Mach 1 body that is painted in bright orange. The owner claims that the paint has been certified by Ford, how’s that for authenticity and endorsement by its maker? The car sports a unique black stripe vinyl along the middle and sides of the car with the 'Boss 302' wording that represents the engine lying beneath the hood. The vehicle's chrome accents look to be rust-free, including the new Mag wheels that are wrapped in Michelin tires. A peek into the interior revealed a beautiful and well-kept tan leather swathed cabin. You are also able to see wood and chrome accents on the door panels and most prominently the three-spoke steering wheel. The 1970 Ford Shelby Mustang Cobra Convertible Tribute is said to have its original radio, camelback seats, and power steering for an enhanced overall driving experience.

Engine

The Boss 302 engine is very special to Ford. Around the time that this car was produced, Ford had a serious competitor that was getting seriously close to outdoing the Mustang. That's right, it was the Camaro. The only way Ford saw fit to save the Image of the Mustang is to introduce a 'Boss' version with a powerful new engine. The result? A vicious 302ci (5.0L) small block V8, the same engine powering this 1970 Ford Shelby Mustang Convertible tribute, except this one is paired with an automatic transmission for a hassle-free cruise in traffic.
