Overview of 1971 AMC Javelin For Sale by Owner

The pony car era was filled with high performance, sleek looks, and a whole lot of personality. While the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro stole the show there were a whole lot of iconic cars that were lost in the sound and marketing efforts. The AMC Javelin was one of those cars, built to shake off that economic car personality the Javelin was a success from the get-go. It won the Trans am series in 1971,1972 and 1976. While the race wins and legendary status would be enough, the AMC Javelin was the first pony car to be used as a standard vehicle for highway police cars. With its legendary status, it's time you drove off in this lovely 1971 AMC Javelin we have today. It's the underdog of the pony car scene of the 70s and one capable performance machine to assure smiles per gallon on weekend drives.

Exterior and Interior

The AMC Javelin was iconic in every way and even made its way to the hit show Better Call Saul. While Michael Mando’s AMC Javelin was red and white this 1971 AMC Javelin sports a lovely silver exterior with the iconic AMX stickers finished off in black. Why AMX? Because the Javelin’s design was derived from an AMC concept called the AMX. The paint is in really great condition and looks factory fresh thanks to the owner reporting the car has a new paint job. Giving this car an aggressive stance is a set of custom tires and wheels. The red interior on this 1971 AMC Javelin screams 1970s and is in fair condition. Every interior component is present and in great condition. While the interior is mostly factory you would note the retro radio with Bluetooth compatibility neatly blending in and providing smooth tunes as you drive by.

Engine

To impress car buyers the AMC Javelin was offered in many engine trims to suit multiple segments of the market, owing to their economy car status they various inline 6 offerings as well. This 1971 AMC Javelin however with its 360ci (5.9 L V8) engine throws away the economic car personality and showcases the car as a vintage performance machine looking to make its mark. The owner reports a rebuild on the engine and less than 1,000 miles run since. Power is sent to the car's rear wheels in true pony car fashion through an automatic gearbox.

This 1969 AMC Javelin SST represents the more upscale trim level of the model lineup, offering additional comfort features and interior enhancements. 1969 AMC AMX Restomod Supercharged

$82,500

AMC, or American Motors Corporation is one of those defunct automakers who gave us a bevy of interesting cars during their lifetime. One of their key models of the Sixties was their two-seat muscle car called the AMX. Produced from 1968 to 1970, less than 20,000 were made in total. Today, we have one of those cars and it’s highly upgraded. Say hello to this black 1969 AMC AMX Restomod from Fairmount, Illinois. It’s got a fearsome 401ci supercharged V8 under the hood with twin TorqStorm superchargers, hooked up to a Tremec 6-speed manual box and, naturally, rear-wheel drive. The car has under 1,500 miles since its comprehensive makeover and is your ticket to owning a formidable Sixties muscle icon that’s been given even more performance.

1969 AMC Hurst SC/Rambler

The Rambler American, subsequently called the AMC Rambler was a compact car made by American Motors Corporation. Three generations of Rambler were made between 1958 and 1969 before the Hornet took over. Ah, these nostalgic names from a brand that’s sadly, no more, is enough to create warmth in the heart of any American classic car lover. Today’s 1969 AMC Hurst/SC Rambler is even more special, because it’s an example of a special produced in 1969 in collaboration with Hurst Performance. Now, this 44,631-mile limited production machine from Montello could be yours. Even more impressively is that it’s been owned by the same person for around 56 years! Furthermore, the Hurst/SC Rambler was considered to be one of the most under-rated muscle cars of the time, given that its 315-horsepower V8 and compact dimensions meant that low 12-second quarter mile times were possible on merely street tires.
