Overview of 1978 Chevrolet Corvette For Sale by Owner

The Chevrolet Corvette is one of those iconic cars where every generation is special. There wasn't really a duff one to speak of, even during the height of the Malaise era in the Seventies and Eighties. Case in point, this 1978 Chevrolet Corvette that's from peak Malaise. Even then, it looks cool and sounds good and will have someone lusting after it. Is that someone you? If so, this car is up for sale with us right now, and it's got just 51,000 miles on the odometer. What are you waiting for?

Exterior and Interior

Dressed in a lovely new black paintwork, this 1978 Chevrolet Corvette looks every bit the icon that it did when it rolled off the GM lines in 1978. It now bears aftermarket five-spoke alloy rims with low-profile tires. If this isn't your cup of tea, the current owner reports that the original wheels are also included in the sale. Let's take a moment to appreciate those gorgeous pop-up headlamps, that muscular stance, and the rakishly angled quad tailpipes at the rear. Furthermore, the current owner includes two sets of T-tops with the car. There's a set of fiberglass tops for when you want to keep cool and a set of glass tops to gaze at the sky, or you could just take off the tops altogether. One car, three ways to go about it. Inside, this car's beige leather upholstery appears to have stood the test of time, as have the clear and neat analog gauges that still look fresh. The current owner says that the radio is an aftermarket unit, and we see it as an Alpine unit with Bluetooth and HD Radio capabilities. We are also told that there are aftermarket speakers installed as an upgrade. If you're a purist, the original radio is included in the sale. Beneath the radio lies the climate control panel, so we assume this car is suitably equipped.

Engine

This 1978 Chevrolet Corvette sports a 350ci small-block V8 that put out around 185 horsepower for 1978. The current owner tells us that the engine has received a tune-up and a new carb. Drive goes to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. There are also said to be new brake calipers.
