During the Sixties, the German luxury automobile manufacturer began acquiring a reputation as a leading manufacturer of sports-oriented cars. While BMW’s history dates back to 1916, their supercar-worthy BMW M division was only established in the Seventies with their first car released in 1978. One of the division's highly successful M lines is the BMW M3, the first of which was based on the second-generation BMW E30 3 Series. The E30 M3 was produced from 1986 to 1991 when it was succeeded by the E36 M3. The model was a super hit and remains one of the best sports cars of all time by Automobile Magazine. This sublime example of a 1990 BMW E30 M3 Coupe is one of only 5,330 ever made for the North American market, and has covered just 500 miles after a complete restoration. Owning this car would be a truly once-in-a-lifetime chance, and we urge you to act fast, since cars like this go like the proverbial hot cakes.

Part of the restoration included a repaint job finished in October 2021 and done in Anthracite by Auto City in San Francisco. Reportedly the car was bought brand new at Stevens Creek BMW. The M3s differentiation from the regular E30 includes a front body-colored splitter, a rear apron, and sill panels that were changed and made aerodynamically viable. The seller reports that the sunroof, rear spoiler, fog lights, and the factory body flares are all original. It sits on a set of original BMW 15” basketweave wheels done in silver with silver-colored brake calipers. The interior features a predominantly black color scheme with grey used for the cloth linings. The seller reports that the original black leather Recaro seats and rear bench have been redone to like new by Karliz Interiors, while new BMW M floor mats were added. The plain black BMW branded 4-spoke steering wheel looks inconspicuous due to its styling. The center-located transmission stick has a weighted M3 shift knob. Keeping the occupants cool is an AC system thoughtfully converted to use R134a refrigerant.

Powering this 1990 BMW M3 is a 2.35L displacement S14 inline-4 engine coupled to a 5-speed Getrag manual transmission with Limited Slip Differential and has been fluid serviced. On its own, this engine has fine racing pedigree in its DNA, based on the M/12/13 engine that powered the Brabham, Arrows, and Formula Benetton Formula 1 cars of the Eighties. The seller reports many upgrades done on the car including King XP P=max racing rod bearings, new connecting rod small end bushings, a magnafluxed crankshaft and micro-polished by Ed’s Crankshafts in Hayward CA, 11mm lift 270’ duration Elgin cams, cylinder head and ITB’s port matched and flowed 30mm venturi, radius valve job, combustion chamber polished valve/valve seats unshrouded, 95mm JE Pistons 10.3-1 compression, Dry film lubricant skirt, ceramic crown coating, an Evo lightweight flywheel, CSF aluminum radiator, new Behr heater core, a header back system built by DECCAT with a Stella muffler and the new exhaust is reported to be CARB approved, ARP rod bolts, new connecting rod small end bushings, ARP Main stud kit, ARP Head stud kit, ARP Head stud kit, E46 cam chain tensioner, new chains and tensioners, new clutch, new wires, plugs and cap, Kolbenschmitt main bearings, new coolant, and fluid reservoirs, and a new driveshaft bearing, new O2 sensor. The letter “M” may seem like just another alphabet, but ask any person fueled by the power of gasoline, and you know that isn't the case. For years, BMW’s range of “M” machines has been pushing out some of Germany’s finest and continues to do so. The M3 range is arguably the most popular in the performance-bred steed lineup, and representing that marque is none other than this 2018 BMW M3 we have today. Hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and with just a reported 77,000 miles on its clock, this German powerhouse is tail-happy performance on demand and dons a competition package to sweeten the deal.

Forged from the desire to really make the Ultimate Driving Machine, the BMW M3 first appeared on BMW’s E30 generation of 3-Series, way back in 1986. Since then, every 3-Series, right up to the current G80 generation has had a corresponding M3. Throughout its life so far, the M3 has had four, six and eight-cylinder power. It’s enjoyed natural aspiration and forced induction. It’s been made in coupe, convertible, sedan and station wagon forms. But one thing has always remained true, its amazing enthusiast-pleasing driving manners. You see, the M3 isn’t about outright speed and power. It's never been about that. Instead, its about providing a package that’s engaging to drive and practical to live with. This G80-era 2023 BMW M3 Competition xDrive Sedan is living proof of that ethos. It’s a four-door sedan with all-wheel drive, the Executive Package, Carbon Fiber Trim Package and even a Matte Black PPF! And yet, it’s supremely amazing to drive while being able to carry your family on their regular errands. If you’re interested, this 21,380-mile car is currently available in Lima, Ohio.

BMW calls itself the maker of the Ultimate Driving Machine, and if you really want to experience that factor, choose an M3. Since 1986, the M3 has represented the best of the sport luxury compact class, built on BMW’s formidable 3-Series legacy. The E30 M3 was the first of them all, and redefined the standard for a sporty car that could carry your family around during the week and hit the track at the weekend. Now, we’ve got a 2011 BMW M3 Convertible for sale from Miami, with a decent 73,537 miles on the clock. This particular example hails from the E90 era, which is important because it’s the first and only time that BMW stuffed a glorious naturally aspirated V8 into the nose of an M3. That’s what this car has, spinning up to 8,400rpm. You’ve also got the Premium Package 2, Enhanced Premium Sound Convenience Package, a set of 19-inch Style 220M double spoke light alloy wheels, and a formidable value proposition to cap it all off.

Traditionally, the BMW 6-Series was the Bavarian automaker’s finest luxury two-door model before the flagship 7-Series full-size luxury sedan. That all changed in the 1990s when the 8-Series came to be, but even now, you can buy a 6-Series grand tourer. So let’s check out a fine example of the first generation, that ran between 1976 and 1989. This 1987 BMW 635CSi is up for sale in Davenport, Florida, and if you want to know how great it is to drive, consider its 179,000 mile odometer reading a true testament to its excellence. Don’t worry if it seems a little leggy by number; these BMWs are built solidly, and with requisite maintenance, can keep going. And it just takes one look at our photos so see that this car has received some pretty good care.

Made between 1995 and 2002, the BMW Z3 was a two-door, two-seat compact sports car that was intended to open up BMW’s appeal to a broader, younger audience. It offered many of BMW’s driving and luxury attributes in a compact and more urban-friendly package. Plus, the Z3 was BMW’s first model to be solely manufactured outside Germany, with all examples coming to life at the company’s plant in Greer, South Carolina. The Z3 even had an outing as a Bond car, featuring in 1995’s Goldeneye where Pierce Brosnan briefly drives it. Now, the Z3 is attaining modern classic status and we have one up for grabs. It’s a 2000 BMW Z3 2.3 from Sebastian, Florida, with over 61,000 miles on the clock. It’s also a reportedly all-stock car.

Range plugging is an exercise done by many automakers, as they try to fulfil the needs of diverse customer segments. For example, what if you want a compact luxury crossover from BMW that’s bigger than an X3, smaller than an X5, and has a rather sporty silhouette? Why, they’ve got the X4! Introduced in 2014, the X4 is called a Sports Activity Coupe, much like its bigger brother, the X6. Two generations of X4 were made before the nameplate was discontinued last year. So if you want a relatively new X4, here’s a second-generation 2024 BMW X4 xDrive30i from Lakewood Ranch, Florida. It’s got 26,100 miles, a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo engine, all-wheel drive and a rather suave coat of white paint.
