During the Sixties, the German luxury automobile manufacturer began acquiring a reputation as a leading manufacturer of sports-oriented cars. While BMW’s history dates back to 1916, their supercar-worthy BMW M division was only established in the Seventies with their first car released in 1978. One of the division's highly successful M lines is the BMW M3, the first of which was based on the second-generation BMW E30 3 Series. The E30 M3 was produced from 1986 to 1991 when it was succeeded by the E36 M3. The model was a super hit and remains one of the best sports cars of all time by Automobile Magazine. This sublime example of a 1990 BMW E30 M3 Coupe is one of only 5,330 ever made for the North American market, and has covered just 500 miles after a complete restoration. Owning this car would be a truly once-in-a-lifetime chance, and we urge you to act fast, since cars like this go like the proverbial hot cakes.
Part of the restoration included a repaint job finished in October 2021 and done in Anthracite by Auto City in San Francisco. Reportedly the car was bought brand new at Stevens Creek BMW. The seller reports that the sunroof, rear spoiler, fog lights, and the factory body flares are all original. It sits on a set of original BMW 15” basketweave wheels done in silver with silver-colored brake calipers. The interior features a predominantly black color scheme with grey used for the cloth linings. The seller reports that the original black leather Recaro seats and rear bench have been redone to like new by Karliz Interiors, while new BMW M floor mats were added. The plain black BMW branded 4-spoke steering wheel looks inconspicuous due to its styling. The center-located transmission stick has a weighted M3 shift knob. Keeping the occupants cool is an AC system thoughtfully converted to use R134a refrigerant.
Powering this 1990 BMW M3 is a 2.35L displacement S14 inline-4 engine coupled to a 5-speed Getrag manual transmission with Limited Slip Differential and has been fluid serviced. On its own, this engine has fine racing pedigree in its DNA, based on the M/12/13 engine that powered the Brabham, Arrows, and Formula Benetton Formula 1 cars of the Eighties. The E90 BMW M3 was the first and only standard production M3 to house a rev-happy V8 engine under the hood, as all its new successors reverted back to using straight-six engines. This E90 sedan version was introduced in 2008 and was the second M3 after the E36 to be produced in a 4-door body style. It came with the same drivetrain and similar external styling as the coupe with only 9,674 sedan models ever produced. This particular 2011 BMW M3 comes with the Competition Package with related changes to the suspension and electronic stability control consisting of the ride height being lowered by 0.4 inches and revised tuning for the adjustable dampers. It also received a special “M” mode for the ESC. With a mere 23,500 miles clocked on the odometer, this BMW E90 M3 Competition Sedan with upgraded brakes and Dinan tune is for sale in Tampa, Florida.
How can you make BMW’s fantastic 3-series even better? Well, the purveyors of the Ultimate Driving Machine called upon their M division to do so. The result was the M3. First introduced in 1986 for the E30 generation, every 3-Series ever since has come with an M3. Over its time, the M3 has seen sedan, coupe, and convertible body styles. This particular 1995 BMW M3 is up for grabs, having 238,000 miles under its belt. Coming from the fine E36 generation, it includes the original owner’s manual and tape, two keys, and is said to be an all-original example. Moreover, its engine was rebuilt at 200,000 miles, giving you peace of mind since it’s only covered 38,000 miles since that time.
The legendary 2006 BMW M3 Convertible set the benchmark for every car ever made against it in the early 2000s. From the E46 3 series, this was considered the best generation of BMWs by many car aficionados, with the existence of the E46 BMW M3 is still a true sensation to this day. The understated but functional design, the famous S54 engine, and the linear controls and chassis that make any driver feel like they are piloting a fully-fledged race car; this was BMW’s attempt to build the “Ultimate Driving Machine”, and they nailed it. Reports indicate that a total of 56,133 coupes and only 29,633 convertibles were produced, making the E46 M3 a rare find today. This particular model, finished in a great combination of colors, has clocked a total of 68,045 miles on the odometer over its life of 18 years. We're told that the servicing is up to date and the car comes with a new battery. This iconic 2006 drop top four-seater sports car is up for sale in Cleveland, Ohio.
The BMW M5 is the high-performance variant of BMW’s popular midsize or executive sedan. Designed to offer proper performance to the enthusiast driver with a family, the M5 has gained a cult following all over the world since the first E28 M5 rolled off the lines in October 1984. Between 1998 and 2003, the E39 M5 ruled the BMW fleet and has since gained a place of immortality. Meanwhile, the E39 was the first M5 to use a V8 engine, a beautifully tuneful naturally aspirated unit. It’s no surprise that the E39 M5 is one of the most sought-after in the M5 series. So, we’ve got a 2001 BMW M5 with just 43,000 miles on the clock for one lucky enthusiast to snap up. The car comes with all info as reported by the current owner and some tasty Dinan enhancements to make it even nicer to drive.
Convertibles have always provided a relaxing, smooth driving experience, but one aspect that is often missing is driver engagement. They have always been better suited to cruising along a country road rather than tearing up hairpins and snaky twists. This 2000 BMW Z3, which has just 60,000 miles on the clock, provides everything. Rear wheel drive, a manual transmission, and that sweet straight-6 soundtrack, it is a masterpiece.
Heralding BMW’s entry into electric and hybrid mobility, the German automaker’s i-series kicked off with the i8. What a way to start; here was a low-slung two-seat sports car that looked straight out of a sci-fi movie. The i8 featured groundbreaking styling by Benoit Jacob, and a surprising choice of engine – mid-mounted of course. Naturally, there are quite a few fans of the i8, and we’ve got a pleasant 9,000-mile 2014 BMW i8 for one lucky person to grab. So, if you’ve been lusting after an i8, drop whatever you’re doing right now and call us pronto.
