The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), commonly coined as the 'Humvee,' is a vehicle that simply has no place on the road, but when you own an HMMWV, who cares? The HMMWV took America and her allied troops wherever they needed to go since 1983, from the sandy dunes of the desert to the dry plains of Afghanistan and Iraq, and now, Ukraine and Russia. A vehicle that can and has taken the brunt of war zones and lived to tell the tale, this 1999 HMMWV is open to be purchased and owned by a civilian. This particular M1123 heavy-duty variant was commonly used to carry troops or cargo and was able to carry a payload of up to 4,400 pounds. This particular vehicle may not find itself on the battlefield anytime soon but it comes with a host of enhancements and upgrades to provide almost any modern comfort and convenience you would look for, all housed in a massive, over-engineered body for the road. With 1,500 miles reported on the clock, this military vehicle can be owned and kept by you, should you choose to.

This particular Humvee comes with a custom dark gray matte textured anti-spall paint that adds to the already intimidating presence it casts. A number of other visual enhancements have been made to the exterior of this vehicle, including a custom brush guard, custom side mirrors and doors with lockable latches and sliding windows, custom 'X' door accents, and a fully sealed hard top, among others. H1-style hood-catch plates are recognizable at the front, and a keen observer will easily notice the LED headlights as well as the LED light fixture upgrade kit that includes blinkers, side markers, tail lights, and reflectors. All of this is kept above the ground thanks to 17" Cooper Discoverer SST Pro tires and Black Rhino Arsenal wheels. Powered side steps that are reportedly deployed and lights activated with the opening and closing of doors help gain access to this goliath. As tough as the exterior may be, the interior provides many of the creature comforts a road-goer may need and more. This includes premium high-back leather seats with adjustable positions for the driver seat, a reportedly newly installed air conditioning and heating system, USB 2.0 and two USB-C ports, sliding rear curtain windows, and a custom-designed military-style dashboard with a 9" touch screen Pioneer display. There are even child car seat latch points on each rear seat, making this Humvee probably the safest vehicle to transport your kids in.

You need a lot of power to power such a massive vehicle enough to brave the battlefield, which is why this Humvee comes with a 6.5L V8 diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission that's ready for the challenge. Kitted with a battery cut-off switch for emergencies, this military machine is more than capable of handling any situation you might encounter.

What we know today as the Hummer stems from a battle-hardened military machine with deep roots in warfare utility. Often mistaken for its civilian offspring, the original military-spec Humvee and its civilian counterpart are distinct, yet inherently linked. The AM General Hummer, derived from the M998 Humvee, was built for rugged terrain and uncompromising performance. Weighing in at approximately 6,860 pounds, this formidable 4x4 came with two engine choices and boasted the ability to scale 18-inch vertical obstacles, handle 60% grade climbs, and traverse 40% side slopes. It’s no surprise that these machines are revered in the off-roading world. Customized examples like this 1998 AM General Hummer Wagon elevate the platform even further, equipped with the most potent factory engine option. Located in St. Marys, Georgia, this exceptional vehicle is trail-ready and waiting to become the centerpiece of your collection.

The seller presents this 1998 AM General Hummer Open Top for sale, equipped with a turbocharged 6.5L diesel V8 engine paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. This example retains its authentic military character while benefiting from desirable usability features, including both canvas and hard tops, aftermarket wheels, and additional hardtop windows, making it a standout heavy-duty military vehicle suitable for collectors, display, or functional use.
