The third generation of the well-known Chevrolet Corvette, known as the C3 was produced from 1967 to 1982. It was the second Corvette to carry the “Stingray” honorific after the C2 Corvette. The design of the C3 was reminiscent of the Mako Shark II designed by Larry Shinoda. Compared to other car models available in 1972 the Chevrolet Corvette C3 stood out like a rose in a weed patch, albeit an aggressive looking rose. When placed next to the previous generation the C3 shares many design ques and features as the C2, including the instantly recognizable dual taillights. This is a 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with a snazzy 383 cu Stroker engine and with just 2,000 miles after the build, located in Florida. The current owner has had it for over ten years.

Originally reported to be painted in white, this 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was repainted in a fresh coat of white during the build. A set of Chevrolet period correct wheels with BF Goodrich radial T/As are in place. Chrome bumpers were available last on the 1972 models as per the vehicle. The current owner reports that the interior is the original blue that the car came with from the factory. The instrument binnacle behind the steering wheel features the speedometer and the tachometer, the rest of the gauges which include fuel, water temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage and the clock are situated in the center console. Power steering was standard in the Chevrolet Corvette C3 with the addition of a tilt and telescopic steering column, and a Chevrolet 3-spoke unit is in place. An aftermarket Kenwood single-DIN radio with CD and AUX-IN handles audio duties.

This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette came with the L48 350ci V8 before it was swapped for a Chevy 383ci Stroker engine that is able to produce approximately 460hp and 500 lb ft. Drive goes to the rear wheels via a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. The 383 Stroker crate engine is regarded as a hot-rod motor popular amongst enthusiasts and those who want more power. Stopping power is courtesy of the disc brakes up front with power brakes all around.

Chevy’s second-generation Corvette was made from 1963 to 1967, but across that relatively short lifcycle, over 117,000 examples found homes. This highlights how popular the Corvette was back then, much like it is now. The second generation or C2 brought about many features that we know from later ‘Vettes, such as pop-up headlamps, the boat-tailed styling, and the exclusive use of V8s for the Corvette – the C1 did offer a six cylinder early in its lifecycle but that wasn’t deemed worthy for a top-tier sports car. Today, we’ve got a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe for sale from Shohola, Pennsylvania, and let us tell you it’s a catch. With a growling 327 under the hood, this is classic American car nirvana at its finest. Plus, given the great condition of the car, it’s a sure-fire appreciating asset if you continue to look after it. If you’re interested in getting your hands on this beauty, we’re waiting for your call or DM.

Chevy’s third-generation Corvette of 1968 to 1982 was the best-seller in the entire range, in terms of generational numbers. Thanks to its super-long production run, over 542,000 were made, despite it carrying on through the dreaded Malaise Era. During these dark times for automotive enthusiasts, Chevy worked hard to maintain the Corvette as one of the fastest American cars around – of course that was a subjective term, but impressive, nonetheless. Hence, a C3 Corvette is a robust way to enter the world of classic American cars. Want to know more? We’ve got a 1977 Chevrolet Corvette for sale from Littleton, Colorado right here. It packs a 350ci L48 under the hood, paired with an automatic transmission to make it more convenient for those who never bothered to learn stick shift.

The Chevy Nova or Chevy II was made between 1961 and 1979, as a compact car for the North American market.
