A debate has been brewing of V8 vs V6 motors in the Ford community since the 2017 re-design of Ford’s famous F150 trim, the Raptor. The second generation Raptor has turned out to be a massive success with Ford, by not only upgrading fuel economy and technology overall, but by bringing a premium for price. These units often sell as much as $20,000 over original MSRP due to a never ending demand for the truck.
The exterior of the truck is what grabs most people before they get a chance to even sit in one. It’s wide fenders give It a true Baja themed body that isn’t on any standard F150, and small details like the grille make sure that everyone knows what type of vehicle you are driving. This vehicle is painted in the most popular color, Leadfoot Grey, which was only originally made for this truck. The previous owner went an extra step to have the fender flares color matched to the body which gives the truck an aftermarket bodykit look. Inside is as nice as any luxury vehicle with it’s air conditioned seats, twin panel moonroof, and countless other gadgets.
For performance, the Raptor has lived up to it’s hype, and then some. Many enthusiasts were let down at the V6 platform, compared to the original naturally aspirated V8. That is until they got to drive one. The turbo set up is brilliant in being able to add instant power and give great fuel economy. This 3.5L 6 cylinder motor comes from factory with 450 horsepower and an insane 10 speed gearbox.
