When a Mustang contains the word “Shelby” in its name, you know it’s going to be something special. This 2007 Mustang Shelby GT500 is no exception. In fact, being a convertible arguably makes this car even more interesting. The GT500 was available from 2007 to 2009 and had a lot in common with the lower spec cars (aside from the much-upgraded engine and gearbox). As such, like the other 5th generation Mustangs, the GT500 was very much an old school pony car. It has a classic design, has a loud and powerful V8 at the front and can spin its rear wheels well when asked to. It was never intended to handle like a GTR, but that’s not where its strength lies.
