The muscle car scene has been a staple in almost any Hollywood flick involving cars and vehicles. This all-American car segment resonated with the masses. Take the Dodge Challenger, which was introduced in 1970 to compete with the likes of the Mercury Cougar, Pontiac Firebird, and the Ford Mustang. Two series were offered, the Challenger and the Challenger R/T. By the time of its first discontinuation in 1983, the Challenger had lost interest with the masses. That was until 2008, when Dodge reannounced the Challenger and brought the muscle scene back to modern times. Up for grabs is a high-performance trim 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8, reportedly with just 33,340 miles on the odometer and in stock configuration.
Exterior and Interior
For 2010, Dodge sold the Challenger in eight varying colors. A mix of both classic colors and new funky ones. This specific specimen is finished in the classic Plum Crazy Pearl Coat paint, a vibrant and iconic color in itself. Part of the SRT8 trim includes an aggressive styling and unique SRT8 badging on the front, rear, and sides. Exterior accents are chrome and black, and hood scoops have functional air intakes for engine cooling. The front is host to LED headlights and a front splitter, while the rear sports a black lip spoiler with the SRT8 badging. It sits on a set of blacked-out 5-spoke wheels backed by red Brembo brake calipers. The interior is finished in a no-nonsense black leather upholstery. Engine
The modern Challenger's popularity was first and foremost due to its performance. Equipping the 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with the 6.1L Hemi V8 engine producing 425hp of power coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission definitely helped in making it one of the sought-after cars in the US. Front and rear, the SRT8 uses drilled and slotted disc brakes, with Brembo offering the calipers for enhanced stopping power. This 1938 Dodge Six Series D8 Sedan is a wonderfully preserved example of prewar American motoring, pairing elegant late-1930s styling with a remarkably original mechanical and interior configuration.
