Overview of 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 For Sale by Owner

In the automotive world there is something for everyone. Say you want sporty looks, you are more than likely to spring for a coupe body style to showcase performance and aggressive styling cues. If you want a car, that is a practical choice that you could use on a daily basis. But what if you could marry the looks of a coupe whilst having 4 doors. Seems impossible until Mercedes- Benz released the original E class based CLS in 2005. Its long swooping body lines with the plunging roofline gave way to the now popular “4 door coupe” body style that we have all come to love. Own the best of both worlds in the form of this 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 we have today. Located in Arizona and the seller notes that it’s a garage kept example which explains the low mileage of 58,500 miles on the clock. You also get all of Mercedes-Benz bells and whistles thanks to this car being a launch edition which means you get every single option ticked off.

Exterior and Interior

With such an iconic body style it's ideal to showcase every single inch of it the right way. This 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 with its gray exterior proudly boasts this feature as well as giving the car a stealthy look. To complement its stealthy personality the car comes with all its chrome deleted and wrapped in black. The car also comes with a set of aftermarket wheels which is black in color and made to match the body trim. The original wheels are also included in the sale. The taillights have been tinted to give that blacked out effect with a rear trunk lid spoiler giving the car a sporty look. For a luxurious experience, this 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 with its cream interior does a perfect job. The cream leather seats are in great condition with the front seats being heated and ventilated. Thanks to this being a launch edition, you get 14 Harman/Kardon speakers with a subwoofer to pump out some good tunes, Multiple 12V outlets to charge devices all in one go, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Parktronic for added safety. To ensure that the car doesn't get too hot on those summer day the vehicle has been equipped with a limo tint and a power rear sunshade which adds onto the car’s dark blacked out look too.

Engine

Hearing a naturally aspirated AMG tuned engine is good but a little forced induction hurts nobody. You get better performance and some good old turbo fluttering to keep you company. This 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550 is powered by a twin turbocharged 4.6L V8 engine which provides ample power and the usual silky smooth Mercedes -Benz performance. In terms of power, you have 402hp, with a 0 to 60 time of 4.3 seconds and top end limited at 155mph. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 7 speed automatic gearbox with manumatic shifting in place for that extra feel.

What do you get if you want a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but with a sportier, coupe-like silhouette? One might point to the E-Class Coupe, but then you counter with “I want four doors”. No worries, Mercedes-Benz’s boffins had anticipated such a request. That’s why the CLS-Class was born 2004, as a four-door coupe-like variant of the E-Class. Three generations were made before the nameplate was retired in 2023, as Mercedes-Benz now offers similar value propositions in other models. This 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 comes from the second generation of the model, and has covered 72,229 miles so far.
