Overview of 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition 7-Speed For Sale by Owner

“Chevrolet Corvette Z06 3LZ C7.R Special Edition” is a very complicated name for a car, but the fact that it contains the words ‘Corvette’ and ‘Special Edition’, makes the tongue twister worthwhile. “Z06” designates the performance versions of the Corvette and 3LZ is the trim level. The C7.R Edition is a tribute to the C7.R – the Corvette-based Le Mans race car. The C7 generation was the last front-engined Corvette and was in production from 2014 to 2019, with the Z06 performance version coming out in 2015. While the C7.R Edition was actually an appearance package on the Z06 rather than a separate variant, it came with a host of special touches and had a separate sequential VIN series (for the limited 500 units that were produced).

Exterior and Interior

It was available with an option of black or Corvette Racing Yellow paintwork (of which this is the former) and got a Jet Black interior. It also received a C7.R Special Edition plaque, black Z06 wheels with a yellow stripe, wheel center caps with the Corvette Racing logo and yellow painted brake calipers. Other exterior features include an exposed carbon fiber weave hood insert, high gloss Spectra Gray painted vents, the visible carbon fiber Ground Effects package, the Black Badge package, the 3LZ Preferred Equipment group and the C7.R graphics package. Inside, the Jet Black leather seating surfaces of the Competition Sport bucket seats have sueded microfiber inserts and yellow custom stitching. The instrument panel trim is carbon fiber, and the 3-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in sueded microfiber. Also included with this car are premium carpeted floor mats, a cargo shade and a C7.R Design indoor vehicle cover.

Engine

Being a Z06 Corvette, performance is at the heart of this machine. Power comes to the rear wheels from the 6.2L supercharged V8 (with the supercharger having more capacity than the engines of many family cars), through the 7-speed manual transmission (with rev-matching technology). Factory figures indicate that this engine made 650hp, the effect of which is amplified by the manual gearbox and the RWD. This car has the Z07 performance package and the battery protection (the former consisting of significant brake, tire and suspension upgrades).
