Up For Sale is Our 2019 Mercedes-benz S-Class AMG S63 4MATIC Sedan
When Mercedes-Benz introduced the first ever top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz S-Class in 1972, the automotive world hailed it as the groundbreaking sedan for Mercedes-Benz as well as a car that had many “firsts.” The S-Class, “S” stands for Sonderklasse, meaning “Special class.” It is produced in various forms, including full-sized luxury sedans, limousines, and armored sedans. It has been made under seven generations as of 2022. Up for grabs is a late sixth generation 2019 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC sedan in pristine condition and with just 23,500 miles on the odometer.

Considering that the S-Class is Mercedes-Benz’s flagship model, they offer the car with an almost limitless choice of design options. This particular Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC comes dressed in the Designo Cashmere White Magno exterior paint. The exterior features the AMG Night Package, which adds Gloss Black paint to the air-dam splitter, side-sill, rear apron inserts, side mirror covers, black chrome finish tailpipes, and gloss black front mesh grilles and air-dam flics. The AMG Styling Package adds a front spoiler and side skirts. A set of 20” AMG forged 10-spoke wheels painted silver with red brake calipers grace the S63. The interior is done in exclusive Porcelain with black Nappa leather. A Black Dinamica headliner is present. The dash consists of a Designo Black Piano lacquer wood trim. The 3-spoke AMG Performance steering wheel is finished in perforated Nappa leather and wood. Additional packages include the Warmth Comfort Package, which adds heating for the steering wheel, power rear seats, heated and active ventilated rear seats, and heated front and rear armrests. A premium sound experience is to be had with the Burmester Surround Sound System. Topping the interior are AMG exclusive all-weather mats.

Powering the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC is a 4.0L Biturbo V8 with a rated power output of 603hp and 664 lb.ft of torque. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic AMG SPEEDSHIFT automatic transmission. 0-60 is clocked in at 3.5 seconds with a factory-limited top speed of 155 mph. Drivers Assistance Package includes a Head-Up Display, Active Lane Change Assist, extended restart in stop & go traffic, route-based speed adaptation, active distance assist, active steering assist, and active speed limit assist.

The S-Class nameplate is one with a long history of producing technologically advanced, full-size luxury sedans. However, for a few years between 2015 and 2021 it also came in the form of a coupe (named the C217 generation). It filled the role left empty by the retirement of the CL-Class and followed the same concept: pillarless luxury grand tourer. The S63 AMG version added the word ‘high performance’ to that description and shares the same drivetrain as its sedan counterpart. Mercedes packed the S coupe with the same industry-leading technology that the sedan got, but the market for a car of this caliber was quite niche, leading to its discontinuation after 2021 as it didn’t meet the production numbers that Mercedes wanted (leaving buyers with the option of getting an E-Class coupe or an SL now). While the relatively low sales were bad news for Mercedes, it means that current and future S-Class Coupe owners have a rarer car on their hands, potentially making it a sought-after future classic one day (especially the more desirable models like the S 63 AMG).

The most popular mainstream luxury car in the world, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class represents an aspirational point and a life goal for many. It’s a full-size luxury car that you treat yourself to, when you can afford one and have made it in life. The S-Class name came in 1972, but the model itself has parentage dating back to 1954. Of course, you’ll also find performance-oriented examples fettled by none other than AMG, those famous Mercedes-Benz tuners who are now a part of the parent company – in fact, they’ve got a line-up of Mercedes-AMG models available. Today, we’ve got a potent 2008 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG from W221 era or fifth generation of S-Class. This car comes from Bonita Springs, Florida and has amassed around 110,000 miles, ready for action.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the pinnacle full-size offering by Mercedes-Benz. Widely recognized as the finest mainstream luxury car in the world, ownership of an S-Class is a bucket list item for many people to aspire towards. The S-Class continues to represent the benchmark in luxury that many automakers strive to compare themselves to and has been a technological tour de force throughout the years as well. Many innovations that we take for granted today, even in basic econoboxes, likely debuted on an S-Class a few decades back. Oh, and if you’re a performance fan, there are AMG variants to enjoy. Take this 2017 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG as a perfect example. This 90,000-mile car is waiting for a new owner to thrill, with its Stage 2 tune making it even more potent than when it left AMG’s stables. The car comes to you with all maintenance up to date, so you can enjoy it sans worries.

Arguably the most popular Mercedes-Benz model in the United States during the Seventies and Eighties, The R107 era of their SL-Class grand tourer saw over 204,000 units find homes. This was during an 18-year production run that spanned 1971 to 1989. Impressive as the figure may be for a luxury car, it’s even more admirable when you consider that just over 300,000 were made in total! In fact, more R107 SLs found homes Stateside than they did in Germany or anywhere else in the world. Today, there’s no shortage of fine examples, thanks to the car’s superb Mercedes-Benz build quality. Hence, this Texas-based 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is a rather sensible purchase to make, even if you have no idea about classic cars. With its 5.6-liter V8, 4-speed automatic gearbox and aftermarket Kenwood stereo unit, it’s a sound choice. Don’t worry about the 142,000 miles on the odometer, these cars are built to go the distance if maintained well.

In 1971, Mercedes-Benz revealed the R107 generation of their popular SL-Class luxury grand tourer. It took over from the W113 ‘Pagoda’ which defined Sixties Mercedes-Benz two-door cars in Europe and North America. The R107 brought new design, updated engineering, and a removable hardtop as key features. It would be made until 1989, with 300,175 units produced during this time. Interestingly, over 204,000 of those units came to the United States, representing a 68% share of total production! Now, you can still find many of these cars running happily, because they were built during a time when planned obsolescence wasn’t even conceived of. That’s why they are the perfect starter classic, even for a younger person. Today’s 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SL comes from Boulder and has a low 31,000 miles on the clock. With its 4.5-liter fuel-injected V8 and 3-speed automatic gearbox it’s already ticking the right boxes for a classic car. Add the Becker Mexico cassette stereo into the mix, and you’ve got a winner!

Do you want a mid-2000s German grand tourer with a stonking V12 under the hood, all the best creature comforts and luxury features of the time, and most importantly, a Star badge on the hood? If so, this 2008 Mercedes-Benz SL600 RENNtech just might be your ticket to ride. It’s from the R230 era of Mercedes-Benz’s popular SL-Class line-up, and comes with twelve cylinders of German horsepower at your disposal. Plus, this rear-wheel drive machine features some enhancements by renowned tuning firm Renntech. It’s done just 20,000 miles to date and is up for grabs in St. Simons Island, Georgia.
