AMG seems to be doing a fine job these days, especially if parent company Mercedes-Benz has deemed them worthy enough to enjoy their own model line-up. Impressive for a tuner company that started off as independent in 1967, and was totally absorbed by Mercedes-Benz in 2005. The Mercedes-AMG GT is a sports car and grand tourer that was produced between 2014 and 2021, and the first of the Mercedes-AMG line. The car enjoyed a prominent role as the official Safety Car for Formula 1 from 2015 onwards, with the GT R variant prevailing in the role from 2018. If you’re looking for one, here’s a 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Coupe with just 11,017 miles on the clock that’s ready for action.

Bearing the Mercedes-Benz star on the nose meant that the Mercedes-AMG GT had to preview the best and latest design language of the brand, and this 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R does just that in its Satin Black outlook. However, that’s just a wrap and if you peel it back, the original color of Green Hell Magno shines through in all its glory – the choice is up to the new owner, really. It rolls on staggered AMG 5-twin-spoke forged alloys that are 19-inches up front and 20-inches at the rear, wearing Michelin high performance tires and showcasing the AMG yellow brake calipers. The AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber II package and AMG Carbon Fiber Trim – Matte package have been specified too. The interior presents itself in Black Nappa and Dynamica Exclusive with yellow stitching. Interior additions include the Convenience Package, Lane Tracking Package, Exclusive Interior Package, AMG illuminated door sills, yellow seat belts, DISTRONIC active distance control, crossbar in matte carbon fiber and Burmester Surround Sound system. The driver faces a fully digital instrument cluster and grips a flat-bottomed steering wheel with paddle shifters for manual gear shifting.

This 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Coupe is propelled by a 4.0L M178 V8 that’s tuned to produce 577hp and 516lb-ft, which is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission. Performance figures stand at a scant 3.6 seconds to sixty, and this machine tops out at 198mph. Large ventilated disc brakes provide the stopping power.

“Mercedes-AMG GT R” is one of the sportiest names a sports car could have. Of course, choosing such a name sets the bar very high, but AMG is a company that knows what they are doing, and the GT R lives up to all expectations. The base version of the car, the Mercedes-AMG GT, is a grand tourer (as suggested by the name), meaning that it was quick but was less performance-oriented, aiming at a good compromise between performance and luxury (and comfort). The GT R is the high-performance version, removing the “unnecessary” pieces of convenience and luxury in favor of better performance. This is very clearly a driver’s (or racer’s) car. It may not be the version you want to daily drive, but it’s definitely the car you want to be in on a track day.

Mercedes Benz wowed us with their AMG GT R when it debuted in 2017 notably with its menacing looks and competitive specs. It appears as though Mercedes let their stylists go mental and the performance engineers wanted a free hand too. It makes a compelling case against many of the established sports cars and for the 2020 model year, it only got better. Three versions were introduced, two being limited edition models. The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster, like the example we are showing here, is limited to only 750 units. This specimen shows 24,250 miles on its odometer and currently resides in New York.

Renowned Mercedes-Benz aftermarket tuners AMG did such a good job on the firm’s models, that they were absorbed by Mercedes-Benz in 2005, and now have the honor of their models being known as Mercedes-AMG vehicles. That’s indeed a great achievement, and if you want to know why, this 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R Coupe is a great way to learn. Produced from 2014 onwards, the AMG GT series is a fine grand tourer that can be had as a fastback coupe, or a roadster. The R variant is the higher performance variant of this already high performance car, and this example comes to you with just 3,469 miles since new.

Luxury that is finely tuned over the years and made perfect is what the Mercedes-Benz S-Class is all about; it's the finest motor Mercedes-Benz can offer its clientele. Present today is what can be that refined perfection, taking shape in this 2017 Mercedes-AMG S 65 Cabriolet. Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, and with over 38,000 miles reported on its clock, this gentle giant can be a treat for yourself and a weekend cruise done right.

Performance that is subtle is the right type of smiles per gallon. When you are loud and brash, one does expect the performance to back it all up, but if you choose to fly under the radar and still sting when heavy on the gas pedal, smiles per gallon quickly ensue. The S Class has been this silent warrior of performance; it doesn't stop there, as it is also the golden standard of Mercedes luxury as well. Present today is a fine example from the S class family and takes shape with this 2017 Mercedes-Benz S550. With a reported 65,000 miles on its clock, this clean example hails from Canyon Lake, is reported to come with two keys, Texas, and is ready to be the perfect way of getting about in luxury, style and performance.

Everyone knows about the Mercedes-Benz R107-era SL-Class that is one of the most definitive classics you can get your hands on. But did you know that there was also a C107 variant, with a fixed hardtop and a notably different upper body design? That’s what we’ve got here with this sleek white 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC from Beverly Hills, California. This car sports a lovely four-seat tan interior, a 4.5-liter V8 under its hood, and has covered a decent 165,000 miles. That tells us that it’s not a garage queen, but a cruiser, meant for devouring hundreds of miles of open road.
