Overview of 1965 Pontiac LeMans Coupe For Sale by Owner

For years, the Pontiac Le Mans has been overlooked, living in the shadow of its more powerful variant, the venerable GTO. Originally a trim upgrade based on the Pontiac Tempest, the LeMans later became a separate model. With the same nostalgic styling as the GTO, the Le Mans is a worthy collector’s car in its own right. Debuting in 1961, the Pontiac LeMans lasted for five generations until 1981. This remarkably original example of the 1965 Pontiac LeMans Coupe belongs to the second generation of the model. Located in Wisconsin, this numbers-matching car only has 70000 miles on its odometer. This is an exceptional chance for the avid classic enthusiast as the owner had tried to keep it as original as possible.

Exterior and Interior

It’s no surprise that the Pontiac’s A-body style gained a reputation with its sharp lines, stacked headlights, and just the right ratio of front/rear overhang that resulted in the LeMans’ brash exterior proportions. Our subject 1965 Pontiac LeMans was repainted about 15 years ago in a steel blue metallic color. It retains its original wheels and rides on 14” radial tires that were fitted two years ago. The car also comes with its original spare tire. It gets better when you enter the black interior, which features leather seats and a minimalistic dash. It also includes an upgraded aftermarket radio with Bluetooth connectivity and upgraded speakers, while the original radio is available and will be included with the sale.

Engine

Boasting the revered 326cid V8 engine under its hood, this 1965 Pontiac Le Mans outputs an estimated 250 horsepower to 285 horsepower thanks to the upgraded 4 bbl carburetor. An Intake from another 65 Pontiac is installed to match the 4bbl, and other upgrades include a dual exhaust. The engine features a numbers-matching automatic transmission, while the original intake, air cleaner, and 2 bbl Carburetor are available.
