The Porsche Boxster was introduced in 1996 by the German sports car manufacturer as a model intended to slot into their range below their flagship 911, as a mid-engined two-seat roadster (convertible) offering. When the first generation was introduced in 1996, it replaced the front-engined 968. The Boxster is a sales success story for Porsche to this date and is now on its fourth generation which was introduced in 2016 as the 718 Boxster, along with its fixed-roof sibling the 718 Cayman. In case you are wondering, the name Boxster is an amalgamation of Boxer, which refers to the flat (boxer) engines that power the car, as well as its style as a roadster. This is a fourth-generation 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster that comes from Florida with 33,000 miles on the clock. Two keys are included with the sale, and it is reported to be a fully dealer-maintained car.

Much like with the 911 and its recognizable body shape, Porsche set out to do the same with the Boxster, and as a result, it has gained its own distinctive silhouette that can be recognized as a Porsche, but not mistaken for a 911. This 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster sports a Chalk exterior paintwork, black convertible top and rolls on 20” black Porsche alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The interior is black, with heated and ventilated leather seats, climate control, infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, parking sensors and lane change assist as part of the tech toys. There is no need to fuss about with raising or lowering the roof with muscle power, as the touch of a button in the center console takes care of that activity.

The fourth generation Boxster comes with flat-four and flat-six engine options, and this 2018 Porsche 718 Boxster is equipped with Porsche’s 2.0L (121ci) turbocharged flat-four engine that puts out 296hp and 280 lb ft. It’s installed behind the passenger cabin in a mid-engined configuration and drives the rear wheels through Porsche’s 7-speed PDK automatic transmission that can be shifted via paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The 0-60mph time is rated at under five seconds, and the car tops out at 171mph.

The Porsche 718 Boxster was introduced in 2016 as the successor to the popular Porsche Boxster that redefined entry-level Porsche sports cars. Yes, Porsche has offered an entry-level model for much of its recent history, a sort of feeder, if you will, towards ownership of a 911 or some of the brand’s other models. That hasn’t stopped the 718 Boxster from also being one of the best enthusiast cars out there, an ideal tool for learning the basic and advanced techniques of performance driving. Regardless of which camp you may belong to, this 2025 Porsche 718 Boxster is a nice option to consider. It’s got only more than 5,000 miles on the clock and comes with 1 key plus a car cover included with the sale. The car is available in Manteca, California.

Although the Porsche 911 is widely recognized as Porsche's flagship model, the Porsche 718 is an often overlooked contender that deserves attention. Originally introduced in 1957 as the Porsche 550 series successor of open top sports-racing cars, the 718 was specifically designed for Formula racing. Over time, the focus of the 718 shifted, and it now carries the 982 model designation. In 2016, the fourth-generation Boxster and third-generation Cayman were introduced under the 982 designation. Now, in 2023, Porsche presents the latest iteration of the 718 Boxster in the form of the low-mileage 2023 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0. This unique offering provides an alternative choice for those seeking a distinctive driving experience outside the realm of the iconic 911.

The Porsche 911 is one of the most remarkable, influential and popular sports cars of all time. Introduced in 1964, its teardrop shape and rear-mounted engine layout continue to this day, as does the five-dial instrument cluster and enthusiast-oriented driving experience. Until 1998, the engine was air-cooled, following which it reverted to water cooling in response to tightening emissions regulations and of course, more power demands. That means pre-1998 cars like this 993-era 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet are a must-have for purists who want that air-cooled powertrain, but prefer some modern conveniences. This particular car hails from Coral Gables, Florida and has covered just 46,000 miles so far. Plus, it’s got an automatic gearbox, thus is perfect if you can’t or don’t want to drive stick.
