Everything is almost identical, say, to a 2022 M240i, from the center console elements arrangement to the dashboard layout that's slightly angled towards the driver at the center. What's immediately apparent, even to those overly unfamiliar with BMWs, is that there are no rear seats, a design choice that enhances its sporty character. Behind the seats, there are twin buttresses designed to protect occupants in the event of a rollover. In addition to that, they also enhance the car's roadster body style with the roof down. Between these buttresses is a wind deflector that reduces wind noise inside the cabin. But what's the use of lowering the roof if you don't want to deal with wind noise, especially on a sunny, breezy day?
The 2022 BMW Z4 M40i's exterior, like the exterior, is very much similar to other BMWs. But there's something distinct about it that makes it unique. In addition, they improve aerodynamics by reducing the air pressure in the wheel arches and drawing hot air away from the brakes. The rear end is not as exciting as the front, but it's pleasing to look at.
Being an M model, the 2022 BMW Z4 M40i benefits from several enhancements from BMW's M Division. It features an Adaptive M suspension with variable shock absorber settings that allow you to switch between comfort and sportier ride modes. Upgraded brakes come standard, and if you're considering a low-mileage example, it likely still has the original factory pads and rotors. Moving inside, the cabin has a 10.3-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and more, though it does not include Android Auto.
