In 1937, Ford debuted its update on the popular Model 48. This era is commonly called the 1937 Ford, and it ran between 1937 and 1940. Here, Ford debuted an all-new 136ci V8 at the entry level of the range, but kept the 221ci unit unchanged. The Blue Oval also offered buyers many body styles, including coupes, convertibles, sedans, coupe utilities, station wagons and vans. Furthermore, the 1937 Ford range was also sold in Australia, as well as assembled in Romania and Latvia. Ford sure was going places. Today, cars of this vintage have usually been turned into restomods and hot rods, but it’s not hard to find relatively true-to-stock examples. Case in point, this 1939 Ford Deluxe that’s for sale in Oak Hill, Florida right now. It’s got just over 70,000 miles on its 221ci Flathead V8, and comes with a 3-speed manual transmission. We’re also told that the car has been repainted.
Exterior and Interior
Black was an exceedingly popular color for cars sold during or near Wartime, since it massively simplified manufacturing complexity. That’s what this 1939 Ford Deluxe has been repainted in, which explains why it looks so shiny. The car comes with whitewall tires, chromed hubcaps and even yellow fog lamps! We’re also told that there’s a loud air horn on board. The reupholstered interior of this 1939 Ford Deluxe features tan leather seating, the interior retains much of its period-correct fittings and is a nice reminder of how far cars have come in the past nine or so decades. The things that we take for granted today weren’t even conceived in the 1930s, after all. So you won’t find a single touchscreen, digital device, or even air conditioning – that was the preserve of super-luxury cars back then.

This 1971 Ford Bronco takes the early Bronco formula in a much more aggressive direction, combining classic first-generation styling with a heavily modified off-road build. Showing approximately 110 miles, it is finished in a custom Silver & Red exterior with flame graphics and rides dramatically higher thanks to a 2-inch body lift and 6-inch suspension lift. This 1938 Dodge Six Series D8 Sedan is a wonderfully preserved example of prewar American motoring, pairing elegant late-1930s styling with a remarkably original mechanical and interior configuration. Showing approximately 3,706 miles, this example features a custom teal and black paint job that highlights its sweeping fenders, tall chrome grille, running boards, and formal four-door body.
