The fight to be the perfect Sunday cruiser can be a tricky one. Some might want a bit of performance whilst some prefer to slow down and enjoy every mile in a laid-back and chilled-out fashion. Whichever way you look at it nothing beats a good old American classic on a Sunday drive to perfectly sum up a hectic week. If you are the type that likes to slow it down and treasure every Sunday drive this 1967 Buick Electra 225 Convertible that we have today might be a good option. The current owner has had the car since 1997 and it’s located in Missouri with a reported original 95,000 miles on the clock. Not a particularly common bird, this Buick Electra could represent a savvy future investment too.
The 1965 model year saw General Motors redesigning their entire passenger model line ups and the Buick Electra was one of them. The new design called for flowing coke-bottle lines with fastback roof profiles. The exterior on this 1967 Buick Electra 225 Convertible really compliments those design features with its characteristic Sixties Aquamarine paint job that brings out its behemoth status quite well. The paint is in great condition due to the car being painted in 2015. To match its exterior, the convertible hood is white in color. The car rides on the original Buick hubcaps which really goes along with the abundance of chrome on the car, all of which is in great shape too. Matching the exterior color of this car can be tough but a good old black interior sure does the job well. The car is finished off with a black leather interior with the front and back seats being in perfect order. The rest of the interior is also in amazing condition as well with the carpets being brand new. Also present in the vehicle is the original Buick Am/FM player which completes this original interior really well.
With a car this size, it’s only natural that there is a sizable engine to power it and keeps it chugging along, and this is the exact case with this 1967 Buick Electra 225 Convertible. Powering the car is reportedly its original engine which is the 430ci (7.0L) Buick V8 engine. Whilst the engine is big in size it’s not geared for performance but smooth delivery of power making it an ideal cruiser. Power is set to its rear wheels through a three-speed Super Turbine 400 automatic gearbox. Gears are selected via a column shifter giving it that old school feel. Stopping power is made possible with Drum brakes all around. Also included in the sale is a spare driveshaft.

With a name like Electra, this car is sure to be an interesting lady! The lady in question is Buick’s full-size offering from 1959 to 1990. Produced over six generations, the Electra was named after a Texan sculptor and socialite called Electra Waggoner Biggs. This lady was, incidentally, the sister-in-law of then-GM president Harlow H. Curtice. This lady must have been quite a charismatic person, because the Lockheed Electra airliner is also supposedly named after her! That’s why we’re sure that you’ll find this 120,000-mile 1970 Buick Electra 225 to be an interesting and characterful American classic car to own and drive. We’re told that all maintenance is up to date as well, making this car a great buy.
With the 50s and the land yacht era coming to a steady halt, cars were now geared to be smaller and more performance-oriented, but what if you weren't ready to embrace this change and wanted a good old American machine that sports all the luxuries and uber cool design? The Buick Electra was the one to go for. With its iconic looks and class, the Electra ensured the old-school land yachts lived to fight another day and stand out from the crowd. Present today is a diamond in the rough and a true survivor of the 60s reported to be a numbers-matching vehicle, this 1961 Buick Electra 225 is truly a catch in today's world of resto-modding and trying to stand out.
The Electra was Buick’s nameplate from 1959 to 1990 for its flagship, full-size luxury car offering. Taking over from the Roadmaster, six generations of Electra would see the light of day. The name Electra was based on a person, Texan sculptor and socialite Electra Waggoner Biggs. No doubt it was also helped by the fact that Electra was the sister-in-law of then-GM President Harlow H. Curtice. This 1974 Buick Electra 225 Limited that we've got for sale is a fourth-generation example with 100,497 miles on the odometer and a slice of what Seventies luxury motoring was like.
Buick’s Gran Sport or GS badge was applied to several of the brand’s high-performance variants of models such as the Skylark, Riviera, Wildcat, Century, Apollo, and more. Since Buick was meant to be a luxury brand slotting in just beneath Cadillac in GM’s hierarchy, the Gran Sport badge represented the sportiest luxury car from GM, since Cadillac did not do sporting machines. Up for sale today is a fully restored 1969 Buick Gran Sport 350 with a total 77,364 miles on the clock and only 500 miles reported since its comprehensive makeover. The car also comes with some interesting updates, making it easier and more pleasurable to drive.
As the latest vehicles give you the utmost convenience and performance that you can imagine, classic cars continue to fill our hearts with nostalgia and a driving experience to remember. This 1965 Buick Special is one such example that takes you back to the ʼ60s when roads were filled with art on wheels. When it comes to vintage cars like this, it is difficult to find an example that is untouched. One of the main highlights of this Buick is that according to its current owner, it is all original. With memories worth 105,000 miles, this classic is now residing in Albany, New York. There is no doubt that this beauty will be a perfect Sunday cruiser and an attention grabber at classic car events.
Cars from 1950 are getting rarer. During that time, automakers went above and beyond to produce works of art on wheels. Classic car enthusiasts know well enough that these icons are worth preserving, but there is a cost, namely convenience. That's when the topic of restoration comes up. Users can add modern amenities that make everyday life with the car more comfortable while still enjoying the nostalgia of the bygone era. This 1950 Buick Super is an excellent example of a classic that has been tastefully restored. According to reports, it has only been 2,000 miles since its full restoration.
