Background Story of this 1967 Chevrolet Impala

Overview of 1967 Chevrolet Impala For Sale by Owner

One of those legends of the ’60s is the Chevy Impala. Widely popularized by the hit TV show Supernatural, a 1967 Chevy Impala is the car driven by the Winchester Brothers. Today’s car is also a 1967 model, specifically a 55,000-mile 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS that’s up for sale in Dallas, Texas. Granted, it isn’t black or a sedan like the Supernatural Impala, but it’s definitely a car to own and cherish for years, or even decades. Cars like these will definitely outlive today’s newfangled EVs, as they’re comparatively easy to maintain. So would you like to take on this time capsule?

Exterior and Interior

Wearing a lovely shade of orange, this 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS symbolizes what ’60s motoring was like for the average motorist who had a bit of a petrolhead bent in them. The Impala has been around since 1958; this car is a fourth-generation variant. With its quad headlamps, chrome bumpers, and chrome wheels, the car looks awesome, to put it mildly. The tires are also new, and those white racing stripes across the top only add to the overall persona of being a sporty daily commuter. The interior of this 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS comes in white, and as you can see from our photos, it is as family-friendly as possible. It’s got two individual seats up front and a bench in the rear. There’s an AM/FM radio for some entertainment and a heater to keep you warm during winter drives. That’s it, really. The windows are manual, wind-up affairs, and the mirrors have to be adjusted by hand too. This car really takes you back to when things were simpler, easier, and cheaper to maintain.

Engine

Under the sizable hood of this 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS lies its beating heart, a 327ci naturally aspirated V8 that will have reportedly made 275 horsepower in its heyday, according to Chevy. That engine powers the rear wheels through a newer 700R4 automatic transmission for a smooth and seamless driving experience. We’re told that the car sits on new bushings and has received new wiring as well. These things will help preserve it and enhance its longevity.

Chevy’s Impala is one of the Bowtie automaker’s best-known names over the decades. Introduced in 1958 and named after the African antelope of the same name, the Impala was available until as recently as 2020, when the tenth generation was finally put out to pasture. Along the way, it’s represented solid and dependable family transportation, as well as providing some thrilling ‘hot’ variants too. Between 2007 and 2012, the Impala was also a NASCAR contender! Today, we have a fine example of the Impala’s glorious legacy, in the form of this fine second-generation car from Placerville, California. 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Current Ask
VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$109,999

Chevy’s answer to Ford’s pony car challenge, the Camaro came in 1967 and brought a sister along for the ride, in the shape of the Pontiac Firebird. This was a smart move by General Motors as it allowed them to sell two suitably varied models in the same segment but with much of the same underpinnings, engines and other components. The Firebird was axed in 2002 but the Camaro continued to be made until 2024. That makes it the second longest-running pony car in history. Today, we’ve got a nice first-generation 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS for sale in St. Cloud, Florida. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 is a show-stopping example of American muscle restored to concours-level detail. Verified by its X66 code and built at the Norwood, Ohio plant, this real-deal Super Sport coupe combines factory originality with subtle performance enhancements that elevate both its drivability and collectability. With its matching-numbers big-block, correct Turbo 400 transmission, and period-authentic Holley 4346 carburetor, this Camaro is the perfect blend of raw 1960s muscle and expert craftsmanship.

1971 Triumph TR6

VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$34,997

With its roots in 1885, the Triumph Motor Company of Great Britain is one of the country’s most well-known sports car makers. They’re known for a fine line-up of TR models which are sports cars, typically open-topped ones called Roadsters. Sadly, Triumph went bust in 1984, but the assets are currently owned by BMW. While the Bavarian automaker shows no plans to resurrect the brand, much of their historic production still remains alive. This 1971 Triumph TR6 is one such example and it’s for sale in Greenville, South Carolina. With its 2.5-liter straight six, convertible top cover and original owner’s manual, this is a fine catch for someone who wishes to sample the British Roadster lifestyle. And let us tell you, it’s quite an addictive driving experience!

PENDING SALE
$82,000

Now here’s a legend of the muscle car scene, the fearsome Oldsmobile 442. Made between 1964 and 1980 as a proper performance machine, it was well-known for decimating nearly all comers at the drag strip. The 442 was potent out of the box, but it could also be tuned with near unlimited scope. Today, those who seek a 442 do so not only for its performative capabilities but its style as well. That’s why we are proud to offer this Torrance-based second-generation 1969 Oldsmobile 442 for sale. With under 107,000 miles, it’s definitely been enjoyed but has so much more to give. Of course when you’ve got a 400ci V8 under the hood and a stick shift to control it with, you don’t want to end journeys too quickly…
