BMW’s E30 3-series is hallowed for bringing some fine driving dynamics to the Bavarian automaker’s compact executive car. The E30 entered the scene in 1982 and ran all the way up to 1994. It’s also renowned as the series from which the M3 was born, featuring the iconic high-revving engine and sublime handling. If you’ve been lusting after an E30 – and there are quite a few who do – here’s a fine 1990 BMW 325i Convertible from that generation. Coming to you from Virginia, this 126,104 mile example has been family owned since new and comes with all documentation, books, records, and complete history from new. The owner proudly states that the car needs nothing and would happily drive cross-country without worries. It’s also reportedly nearly all-original and nothing has been modified.

1987 saw the E30 receive its refresh or mid-life facelift, featuring redesigned rear lights, a new front bumper, and other enhancements. This 1990 BMW 325i Convertible proudly sports all those features in its distinctive Bronzit Beige paintwork with those lovely period-correct BMW alloy rims that are wrapped with Falken tires that the owner states were replaced around 5-6 years ago but remain new and there’s relatively low mileage on them. The soft top was also replaced due to cracking in the soft rear window. Indeed, it’s not often you’d come across a car of this vintage in such careful condition. The interior maintains the carefully used and lovingly cared for ethos in all its beige leather glory. The dashboard looks pristine too, and the original climate control with air conditioning is present, as is the period-correct BMW radio cassette and on-board computer. The analog cluster comes from the pre-digital era and is refreshingly old-school with its clear and easy-to-read BMW font. Open the boot lid and the original toolkit is present on the inside of the boot lid.

Pop the front-hinged hood and have a look at the powerplant of this 1990 BMW 325i Convertible. Whilst the model could be had with a range of four and six cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, this example packs the smooth 2.5L M20 gasoline straight six that sends 168hp and 164lb-ft to the rear wheels via a four-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Braking is via discs on all wheels.

BMW’s 3-Series is a fine compact luxury car, embodying BMW’s spirit of creating the Ultimate Driving Machine. The default choice for many petrolheads for decades, BMW had the bright idea of pushing the envelope and creating a halo variant in the mid 1980s. Their efforts came to fruition with the E30 M3 that ran between 1986 and 1991. With its fizzy four-cylinder engine and myriad performance enhancements, the letter-and-number pairing of M3 quickly gained a reputation. Ever since then, every 3-Series has been accompanied by an M3. Engines grew from four to six to eight cylinders, and then went back to six, albeit with turbocharging. This particular 2023 BMW M3 Competition from Sunset, Texas is from the current G80 series and has just 5,000 miles on the clock. Plus it’s got the Competition Package for an even more hardcore driving experience, while retaining the family-friendliness that the 3-Series is known for.

BMW are masters at finding new segments and predicting customer preferences, sometimes even before customers know it themselves. Take their line-up of Sports Activity Coupes, for example. These are SUVs with coupe-like sloping rear profiles, blending the shape of a sports car with the practicality of an SUV. The biggest Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) that you can get from BMW is the X6. That’s what we have here today, a 67,941-mile 2021 BMW X6 sDrive40i from Jacksonville, Florida. It’s got the M Sport Package, Executive Package and a set of 22-inch M Double Spoke Bi-Color wheels too. And of course, it comes with all the usual BMW refinements and tech toys that you’d expect from the German luxury automaker’s products.

The one that strikes fear into many midsize or executive car makers, the BMW M5 has been setting the template for a fast family car for over forty years since the first one came out in 1984. It’s become a de facto member of the 5-Series line-up ever since, sitting at the top of the range, and offering supercar-chasing performance in a four-door package. Today’s 2022 BMW M5 Competition Package comes from Boca Raton, Florida and is from the F90 era of 2017-2023. With just 30,000 miles, this car packs the Appearance Package and was reportedly certified six months ago. If you want a family car that’s sure to knock your socks off, you can’t go wrong with a M5.
