Overview of 1999 Plymouth Prowler For Sale by Owner

It isn't often that a team of designers is asked to use their creativity without any restrictions, but that is precisely the instructions Chrysler had given their team. The only request was that the vehicle was supposed to take its inspiration from hot rods that were famous during the 30s. So, under the instruction of Thomas C. Gale, the Prowler came to life, and it became the show-stopper car after the legendary Dodge Viper. Only 11,702 Prowlers were made, making it a collector's item. This specific example may as well fall under the brand-new category, as it is reported to have just 83 original miles.

Exterior and Interior

Some casual research about hot rods will give you a clear idea about where the inspiration for this 1999 Plymouth Prowler came from. One of the most distinctive features of a hot rod was the exposed front wheels and long hood, and the Prowler captures this exceptionally well. This specific example, however, brings in some modern (at least for the 90s) elements to the car, giving it modern creature comforts with the look and feel of a classic Sportster. The car wears a piano black exterior paint which is said to be accompanied by a clear coat. The car sits on 17-inch front and 20-inch rear chrome wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle ES-D tires. Obviously, the interior of this 1999 Plymouth Prowler couldn't be as brutal as a drag-strip-ready hot-rod. The two-seater cabin is made of plush Agate Black leather. The gauge meters have been spread across the dashboard, and passengers can enjoy comforts such as a 6-disc CD changer and factory keyless entry. Moreover, there are also some additional features, such as the factory power rack and pinion power steering.

Engine

As for the engine, this 1999 Plymouth Prowler carries a 3.5L EGG V6 engine paired with a 4-speed 42LE automatic gearbox. The Prowler has been able to achieve a 0-60mph in around 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of around 126mph.
