Chevrolet’s first mid-engined Corvette was always going to be an exciting prospect. With aggressive styling for the new model, the Corvette’s very ethos was turned on its head for the 2020 model year. With the C8’s new engine configuration the styling has been tweaked significantly. There are still some subtle callbacks form the C7, but the technical team at Chevrolet evidently assigned greater weight to aerodynamics and cooling for this new layout. This car has been treated to an Xpel Paint Protection Film on the front, which will go some way in protecting the rare color that was optioned when new.
Although the placement of the engine is significantly different from that on the previous C7, the 6.2-liter V8 does share many components with the previous engine. The 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine in the Corvette C8 is naturally aspirated and puts out 490hp with 465 lb-ft of torque. The C8 is the first Chevrolet Corvette since the C1 to not include an option for a manual transmission. Instead, the C8 uses an automatic dual-clutch system, and it's good for a super-car rivaling 2.9 second 0-60mph time.
