Rallying is one tough sport with the bravest drivers pushing pedal to the metal. Your choice of weapon should be fast, handle well on any surface as well look good for cameras. No easy task but Mitsubishi is one of a handful of manufacturers that perfected this recipe with each release of the iconic Evolution. While a rally car for the road sounds fun Mitsubishi released street versions of their rally-bred monsters just like this 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII AMS Modified we have today. With a reported 55,000 miles this car packs a punch with a host of upgrades and is waiting to be your very own street-legal track weapon.
With homologation rules out the window, the 7th generation Evolution was set to be based on the Mitsubishi Cedia/Lancer. The aggressive styling is taken up a notch in this black 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII AMS Modified with APR widebody kit, APR GTC-300 rear wing with 3-inch riser, APR carbon fiber rear diffuser and APR front wind splitter and canards. Boosting that aggressive stance is a set of ORK XSA 02C polished 18×8.5 wheels which reportedly have fresh rubber. The interior is also black in color and also features some tasteful upgrades. The front seats are black Recaro bucket seats for that added race feel. Speaking of race feel the car’s dashboard sees some changes too, you now have a host of AEM gauges keeping check of this car’s performance and an Alpine IVA-D901 Head Unit with satellite navigation connected to Alpine amplifiers and speakers for some great tunes.
Each generation had one thing in common, a turbocharged 2.0L engine and all-wheel drive to replicate their fire breathing rally cars. While it was fairly a small powertrain for a sports car it sure made up for in power. This 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII AMS Modified sports a turbocharged 2.3L stroker engine but on a whole different level there is a host of upgrades done to the car which include Ross pistons Oliver rods, ARP head and main studs, Kelford 272/272 cams, and Fidanza cam gears. The car also sports a host of AMS upgrades which include AMS billet wheel GT35R turbo kit, AMS VSR intake manifold, AMS UICP with Tial BOV, AMS FMIC, AMS ported race head, AMS 3-inch exhaust, AMS 1000cc injectors and an AMS fuel surge tank kit. Suspension and handling upgrades include Endura-Tech adjustable coilovers, AMS trailing arm bushings and Cusco front and rear sway bars. Stopping power has been improved as well with a Stoptech Evo ST-40 4 wheel brake kit in place. Power is sent to all 4 wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and the car reportedly runs on street gas.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is a popular super sedan that represents the brilliance of the Japanese automotive industry. It's well known amongst motorsport enthusiasts for its success in rallying, such as with the legendary Finnish driver Tommi Mäkinen, who put the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution name on the world stage by winning four world championships. Derived from these rallying roots, there is one more thing that made these fabled Japanese cars so popular: their mod-ability. That's demonstrated with this particular 10th-generation Lancer Evolution that comes modified with a host of performance upgrades and even a new 2.0L turbocharged inline-four engine with a mere 2,100 miles clocked. The Air Lift suspension is the cherry on top, combined with all the other upgrades, allowing this modified 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution to be parked in the coolest stance possible. If air suspension isn't your thing, then this all-wheel drive Evo even comes with Tien Flex-Z Coilovers, which are not installed but ready for you to swap to.

2016 saw the set to pasture a beloved JDM classic, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, in its 10th generation of production. A quick history lesson reveals that Mitsubishi Motors Corporation was founded in 1970 in Japan. Shortly after its founding, Mitsubishi introduced the Mitsubishi Lancer, a subcompact car positioned below the Galant. The 90s saw the boom of world-class rallying, and with Subaru's success in the sport, Mitsubishi wanted a cut of it. They had initially entered rally racing with the 1973 Lancer and swiftly netted the top four positions. From 1992 to 2016, Mitsubishi produced the Lancer Evolution, which heavily utilized rally designs and mechanicals in a road car. Tear up the asphalt and soar above dirt roads with this tuned 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII with a reported 55,750 miles on the odometer.
As the ‘90s Japanese vintage cars such as the Supra and R34 are commanding six-figure prices, the mainstream collectible car market is starting to notice the models that had flown under the radar. The Mitsubishi 3000GT, also known as the GTO, is one such gem that is a bliss to drive. Three series of this model were produced, and it was available as a retractable hardtop as well. Up for grabs here is a 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL Spyder showing just 111,000 miles on its clock. It flaunts various new upgrades under its belt and is currently located in Virginia.
