If you’re looking for a luxury vehicle manufacturer from Japan, you’ve got a few choices. However, nobody comes close to the Japanese luxury brand cachet that Lexus enjoys in the North American market, of course a large part of that is due to it being a Toyota sub-brand. In 2001, Lexus introduced their SC430 model to the market as a two-door coupe with a retractable aluminum hardtop. The SC430 was marketed as the ‘Jewel of Lexus’ and the brand’s first drop-top to boot.
