The Mercedes-Benz E-Class nameplate is most popularly seen upon the company’s four-door midsize luxury sedan offering, and has been the case for decades. But did you know that Mercedes-Benz also offers coupe and convertible choices? These have sometimes been marketed under different model designations. The first of the E-Class badged coupes and convertibles came about in 2010, with the C207 and A207. These took over from the Mercedes-Benz CLK. The series got a facelift for the 2013 model year, and this 2014 Mercedes-Benz E550 Convertible is a prime example of a post-facelift car. With 41,000 miles and all servicing up to date, it’s a fine boulevard cruiser and can easily serve as your daily driver, too.
Exterior and Interior
This 2014 Mercedes-Benz E550 Convertible wears a silver suit and is a Sport variant. That means some exterior changes, such as the two-bar front grille and the fact that the car sits closer to the road because it’s been lowered from the factory. Park one of these next to a pre-2013 model, and you’ll see the changes that the 2013 facelift brought about, the most notable being the headlamps. This car features a lovely set of twin-spoke alloy wheels, and we’re informed that they wear new tires, too. The car is capped off (literally) with a power-operated black convertible top that provides supreme refinement and weather protection. The interior of this 2014 Mercedes-Benz E550 Convertible is a four-seat affair with white leather-upholstered seats and plenty of tech. There are heated and ventilated front seats with power adjustment, a Harman/Kardon sound system, a rear automatic sunshade, a navigation system with Mercedes-Benz’ COMAND infotainment system, voice control, and DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control. The fourth generation was produced between 2010 and 2017 as a sedan, wagon, coupe, and convertible. This is a fourth generation 2012 Mercedes-Benz E550 Cabriolet from New York with 42,000 miles on the odometer.
The 1973 Mercedes-Benz 350 SL comes from the early years of the R107 generation, a period when Mercedes-Benz was still establishing the naming conventions that would define the model in the U.S. market. One of the more interesting details is the 350 SL badging paired with the 4.5L V8 specification.
