The race for the best electric or plug-in hybrid cars began in earnest at the start of the previous decade, and with it, it had reeled in BMW. To commemorate its third anniversary, BMW released the i8 Protonic Frozen Black Edition in limited numbers. While the i8 was discontinued in 2020, the car in itself, and especially the limited edition variants, have seen its value and price rise upwards.
