Mercedes-Benz are masters at segmentation. Take their S-Class uber-luxury model, for example. If you want to be driven in the back seat, cosseted by supreme comfort, and entertained by today, as well as tomorrow’s tech, you can choose the sedan, in standard or long wheelbase variants. If you take the wheel on weekends, there are AMG variants with over 600hp on some to help titillate you. However, if you are the sort who always, or predominantly does the driving, Mercedes-Benz offers the S-Class Coupe and Convertible line-up. This 2019 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC is from the C217 generation which is just one behind the current. With just 5,572 miles, it’s barely out of it’s pampers!

This 2019 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC wears a sinister black exterior that’s enhanced by the AMG carbon fiber exterior package. You’ve got AMG red painted brake calipers behind the black AMG multi-spoke alloys that are protected by wheel locking bolts in case they attract unwanted attention. Four squircle-tipped exhausts hint that this car packs potency and is not to be trifled with unless you’re also packing heat. The interior wears Designo Black Exclusive Nappa leather, with Designo exclusive upholstery code, black Dinamica headliner, and AMG Nappa and Dynamica performance steering wheel to grip, given that this is a performance car in luxury clothing. The flat-bottomed wheel also hosts the paddle shifters for automatic gear shifting, as well as touch pads for the multifunction controls. While there is a back seat with separate air vents, you want to be up front, ideally in the driver’s seat, and you get heated and electrically adjustable seats with memory for front occupants, as well as dual-zone climate control. A high-end Burmester sound system ensures a fantastic music experience, and the sophisticated MBUX infotainment system offers plenty of connectivity. There’s also the Driver Assistance Package specified.

This 2019 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC packs a 5.5L M157 BiTurbo V8 that belts out 550hp and 531lb-ft to all four wheels via a 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system that ensures superb traction all the way to its limited top speed of 155mph.

The S-Class nameplate is one with a long history of producing technologically advanced, full-size luxury sedans. However, for a few years between 2015 and 2021 it also came in the form of a coupe (named the C217 generation). It filled the role left empty by the retirement of the CL-Class and followed the same concept: pillarless luxury grand tourer. The S63 AMG version added the word ‘high performance’ to that description and shares the same drivetrain as its sedan counterpart. Mercedes packed the S coupe with the same industry-leading technology that the sedan got, but the market for a car of this caliber was quite niche, leading to its discontinuation after 2021 as it didn’t meet the production numbers that Mercedes wanted (leaving buyers with the option of getting an E-Class coupe or an SL now). While the relatively low sales were bad news for Mercedes, it means that current and future S-Class Coupe owners have a rarer car on their hands, potentially making it a sought-after future classic one day (especially the more desirable models like the S 63 AMG).

The most popular mainstream luxury car in the world, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class represents an aspirational point and a life goal for many. It’s a full-size luxury car that you treat yourself to, when you can afford one and have made it in life. The S-Class name came in 1972, but the model itself has parentage dating back to 1954. Of course, you’ll also find performance-oriented examples fettled by none other than AMG, those famous Mercedes-Benz tuners who are now a part of the parent company – in fact, they’ve got a line-up of Mercedes-AMG models available. Today, we’ve got a potent 2008 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG from W221 era or fifth generation of S-Class. This car comes from Bonita Springs, Florida and has amassed around 110,000 miles, ready for action.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the pinnacle full-size offering by Mercedes-Benz. Widely recognized as the finest mainstream luxury car in the world, ownership of an S-Class is a bucket list item for many people to aspire towards. The S-Class continues to represent the benchmark in luxury that many automakers strive to compare themselves to and has been a technological tour de force throughout the years as well. Many innovations that we take for granted today, even in basic econoboxes, likely debuted on an S-Class a few decades back. Oh, and if you’re a performance fan, there are AMG variants to enjoy. Take this 2017 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG as a perfect example. This 90,000-mile car is waiting for a new owner to thrill, with its Stage 2 tune making it even more potent than when it left AMG’s stables. The car comes to you with all maintenance up to date, so you can enjoy it sans worries.

Mercedes-Benz has a fine array of grand tourers, but if you want a true-blue sports car with a star on its nose, the Mercedes-AMG GT is as fine as they come. Introduced in 2014, the AMG GT is now in its second generation of production. It’s a fearsome two-door fastback coupe with a twin-turbo V8 under its hood. Hence, it makes for a fine car to drive regularly, and we have a 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 55 for sale right now. This 3,000-mile machine comes with a 469 horsepower 4.0-liter V8, an AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed automatic gearbox, all-wheel drive and a host of tech features. It’s currenrly available in Dallas.

If you want a German classic car with some modern conveniences, a V8 under the hood and a fine legacy, you can’t go amiss by choosing a Mercedes-Benz SL from the R107 era. Over 300,000 were made between 1971 and 1989, of which two thirds came to North America. The R107 redefined the term boulevard cruiser, with its performance, luxury interior and driving manners over long distances. If that sounds like your cup of tea, we have this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL for sale right now. It’s from Scottsdale, Arizona, and has covered just over 71,000 miles so far. It’s also got a smooth M177 5.6-liter V8 under the hood.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class stands in stark contrast to the rest of this iconic German luxury car maker’s offerings. Its boxy, prominent, and can venture off-road with gusto. Introduced in 1979 as a military machine on the request of the Shah of Iran, civilian variants emerged in 1979. Since then, the G-Class has gained the typical Mercedes-Benz luxury features and technological highlights, but maintains its immense off-road capabilities. This 2019 Mercedes-Benz G550 is one fine example and it’s up for sale in Salt Lake City, Utah. With 94,604 miles on it, you can tell that it’s meant to be driven. Plus, given its off-road abilities, this is the perfect family vehicle for the outdoors-loving crowd.
