Ever since its reveal at the 2016 Goodwood Revival of Speed the AMG GT has taken the world by storm. It’s mind-boggling performance figures and drop dead gorgeous looks turned a lot of heads in the automotive industry, and the AMG GT even went on to be the official Formula 1 Safety Car for the 2018 season onwards. The AMG GT no doubt is known to be one of the fiercest cars from their entire lineup. If you were to purchase one you could have it in only a two-door coupe, that was until the 2019 model year where a tasty roadster body style was introduced. If you were looking to buy an AMG GT R roadster brand-new, there was some bad news as only 750 were produced. Here’s some good news, one has popped into our inventory. Feast your eyes on this 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R Roadster we have right now, from Florida, and with just 4,800 miles on the clock. To ensure that all this power is in handled the right way the AMG GTR is equipped with adaptive dampers, rear wheel steering, AMG rear axle steering, electronically controlled limited slip differential and a whole lot of carbon fiber in and around the entire car. The titanium exhaust in the AMG GT R sure is a treat with Car and Driver summing up how loud the AMG GTR really is. “It idles like it belongs in a NASCAR garage. It doesn't roar, it thunders”.

“Mercedes-AMG GT R” is one of the sportiest names a sports car could have. Of course, choosing such a name sets the bar very high, but AMG is a company that knows what they are doing, and the GT R lives up to all expectations. The base version of the car, the Mercedes-AMG GT, is a grand tourer (as suggested by the name), meaning that it was quick but was less performance-oriented, aiming at a good compromise between performance and luxury (and comfort). The GT R is the high-performance version, removing the “unnecessary” pieces of convenience and luxury in favor of better performance. This is very clearly a driver’s (or racer’s) car. It may not be the version you want to daily drive, but it’s definitely the car you want to be in on a track day.

Mercedes Benz wowed us with their AMG GT R when it debuted in 2017 notably with its menacing looks and competitive specs. It appears as though Mercedes let their stylists go mental and the performance engineers wanted a free hand too. It makes a compelling case against many of the established sports cars and for the 2020 model year, it only got better. Three versions were introduced, two being limited edition models. The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster, like the example we are showing here, is limited to only 750 units. This specimen shows 24,250 miles on its odometer and currently resides in New York.

Renowned Mercedes-Benz aftermarket tuners AMG did such a good job on the firm’s models, that they were absorbed by Mercedes-Benz in 2005, and now have the honor of their models being known as Mercedes-AMG vehicles. That’s indeed a great achievement, and if you want to know why, this 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R Coupe is a great way to learn. Produced from 2014 onwards, the AMG GT series is a fine grand tourer that can be had as a fastback coupe, or a roadster. The R variant is the higher performance variant of this already high performance car, and this example comes to you with just 3,469 miles since new.

Mercedes-Benz has a fine array of grand tourers, but if you want a true-blue sports car with a star on its nose, the Mercedes-AMG GT is as fine as they come. Introduced in 2014, the AMG GT is now in its second generation of production. It’s a fearsome two-door fastback coupe with a twin-turbo V8 under its hood. Hence, it makes for a fine car to drive regularly, and we have a 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 55 for sale right now. This 3,000-mile machine comes with a 469 horsepower 4.0-liter V8, an AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed automatic gearbox, all-wheel drive and a host of tech features. It’s currenrly available in Dallas.

If you want a German classic car with some modern conveniences, a V8 under the hood and a fine legacy, you can’t go amiss by choosing a Mercedes-Benz SL from the R107 era. Over 300,000 were made between 1971 and 1989, of which two thirds came to North America. The R107 redefined the term boulevard cruiser, with its performance, luxury interior and driving manners over long distances. If that sounds like your cup of tea, we have this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL for sale right now. It’s from Scottsdale, Arizona, and has covered just over 71,000 miles so far. It’s also got a smooth M177 5.6-liter V8 under the hood.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class stands in stark contrast to the rest of this iconic German luxury car maker’s offerings. Its boxy, prominent, and can venture off-road with gusto. Introduced in 1979 as a military machine on the request of the Shah of Iran, civilian variants emerged in 1979. Since then, the G-Class has gained the typical Mercedes-Benz luxury features and technological highlights, but maintains its immense off-road capabilities. This 2019 Mercedes-Benz G550 is one fine example and it’s up for sale in Salt Lake City, Utah. With 94,604 miles on it, you can tell that it’s meant to be driven. Plus, given its off-road abilities, this is the perfect family vehicle for the outdoors-loving crowd.
