This 2022 Earthroamer XV-LTi 068 is the ultimate step in overlanding. If you’ve gone through the standard array of overlanders built on vans, midsize pickup trucks and SUVs and aren’t satisfied, this mega machine will definitely catch your attention. Built upon a Ford Super Duty platform, it’s basically a house on wheels that’s road legal. If you want to go even bigger and further off-road than this behemoth can tackle, you’ll probably have to find a way to get something military and convert it. But are you going to go all that way? Make this the ultimate end point and buy this 33,000-mile vehicle. Then, you’ll never need another off-roader or overlander.
Exterior and Interior
Wearing a black paint job, you can tell that it’s a Ford Super Duty from the front, and perhaps the sides but otherwise, it appears to be an all-custom job. In fact, the massive light bar obscures the grille badge, so the only calling card is the SUPER DUTY script atop the hood. Chunky off-road tires, and a definite suspension lift are also present. Meanwhile, the rear is fully custom, with Earthroamer LTi script and a quartet of X-shaped taillamps. We’re told that the truck and camper body are fully X-guarded, and there’s a window tint for the cab and camper. Now let’s check out the interior. Step aboard this 2022 Earthroamer XV-LTi 068 and you’ve got a comfortable cabin. Up front is your typical Super Duty driving compartment, with a multifunction steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a large touchscreen-enabled infotainment system and the usual things you’d find here. Behind this is a special camper body with natural Maple cabinetry, black leather seating, two captain chairs at the rear, a storage platform, a 32-inch LED HDTV, a Sonos sound bar, a Philips Hue lighting system, a central vacuum system and a GOST security system. There’s even Earthroamer-branded dinnerware, glasses, mugs and silverware, as well as a 12-piece set of Earthroamer nesting induction cookware. There’s even a sink and toilet so you don’t need to go in the bush like an animal.
Engine
Powered by a 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8, paired with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, this 2022 Earthroamer XV-LTi 068 can indeed move itself to places you wouldn’t expect. Of course, don't forget to factor in that higher center of gravity every time you hit the off-road trails — or stand above traffic.
This 2008 Ford F-550 Super Duty Custom Cummins Hauler is far removed from a stock work truck. Showing approximately 116,195 chassis miles, the current owner reports that only about 3,000 miles have been added since the current build, with the 6.7L Cummins 24-valve diesel swap completed in 2018. Ford’s F-Series extends beyond full-size pickup trucks, and into some seriously potent commercial machines. Cue up the Super Duty, which is now in the fifth generation. This 1930 Ford Model A Phaeton Hot Rod takes the simplicity of early Ford design and turns it into a traditional open-wheel hot rod with a strong period-inspired attitude. Finished in red over a tan interior, it is powered by a 350ci V8 topped with triple 2-barrel carburetors and paired with an automatic transmission. The chopped top has been removed, leaving a more open profile beneath the tan convertible soft top, while the exposed engine, staggered aftermarket wheels, dropped front axle, and side-exit exhaust give the car the unmistakable stance and mechanical presence enthusiasts expect from a classic hot rod build.
This 1965 Ford Mustang Hardtop is the kind of early pony car that gets straight to the point: a compact coupe, a small-block Ford V8, a four-speed manual, and rear-wheel drive. Showing approximately 17,433 miles, this example is finished in Caspian Blue over a black reupholstered interior and keeps the classic Mustang recipe intact while adding just enough personalization to make it feel more driver-focused. The 1996 Hummer H1 Wagon is one of the most unmistakable civilian off-road vehicles ever built, carrying over the wide stance, portal-axle hardware, and go-anywhere attitude that made the H1 famous. Showing 93,836 miles, this example is finished in White over a Gray and Black interior and pairs a 6.5L turbocharged V8 diesel with a 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission and 4WD.
