Overview of 1934 Ford Model 40 Tudor Sedan Hot Rod For Sale by Owner

There’s something appropriately gangster about Thirties Fords, perhaps its down to their prominent showing in the silent films of the era. The 1932 Ford was produced in Model B, Model 18 and Model 40 forms, with a slew of body styles. The Tudor for example, was a two-door sedan, while the Fordor had, can you guess, four doors. As time passed on, these cars were noticed to be excellent for hot-rodding. That’s what we have here, a 1934 Ford Model 40 Tudor Sedan Hot Rod from Marlow, Oklahoma with just 13,077 miles to its name. This eye-catching vintage Ford comes with hydraulic air-lift suspension, a V8, and an automatic gearbox too.

Exterior and Interior

Black was very common as a car color in the Thirties, so it’s fitting that this 1934 Ford Model 40 Tudor Sedan Hot Rod comes in black. The rakish shape of the car’s roofline and bulbous styling really brings out its gangster pretentions, while its polished aluminum 5-hole wheels with custom V8 center caps add some glitz and glamor. These are wrapped with modern Goodyear Viva Touring radial tires – no cross-plies here. Then, we find an interesting hood ornament atop the chromed radiator grille. Finally, the whole thing sits on hydraulic air-lift suspension, allowing you to adjust the ride height accordingly. The custom red interior of this 1934 Ford Model 40 Tudor Sedan Hot Rod has been upgraded with air conditioning to keep everyone comfortable. Accessed via rearward-hinged doors, up to four adults can travel within this vehicle’s passenger cabin. There’s also cruise control, and a Kenwood head unit driving some Pioneer speakers for your music.

Engine

This 1934 Ford Model 40 Tudor Sedan Hot Rod has reportedly been upgraded with a nice 350ci naturally aspirated V8. This is a far cry from the original, wheezy 221ci Flathead that it will have packed at the factory. The engine is fed via a 4-barrel carburetor and features a chromed engine bay for some added visual drama. It’s paired with a 3-speed automatic gearbox and drives the rear wheels. You’ve also got an upgraded radiator and electric cooling fans to ensure proper temperatures during longer cruises.
