Background Story of this 1954 Ford Crestline

Overview of 1954 Ford Crestline For Sale by Owner

The Ford Crestline was the top tier trim for Ford’s 1952 range. It came in a wide variety of forms, including as a hardtop, a convertible (called the Sunliner), a sedan and a station wagon. The series was made for just three model years before 1955’s Fairlane series took over. Today, the Crestline and its Mainline and Customline siblings are largely overlooked as classics, since the Fairlane steals all the limelight when you consider Fifties Fords. That’s why you should really give this 1954 Ford Crestline Sunliner Convertible Restomod a chance. It’s a lovely restomod effort with a punchy 381ci bored-over V8, a Tremec manual gearbox, a custom interior, air conditioning, and so much more to make every drive as wonderful as possible.

Exterior and Interior

This classic Fifties Ford comes dressed in a Pearl White suit, and rides on a set of period-appropriate wheels with shiny chromed hubcaps. However, beneath the skin, this 1954 Ford Crestline Sunliner Convertible Restomod features a Mustang 2 front end with adjustable coilover shocks. The custom paint job also highlights the car’s glorious chromed bumpers, exhaust tips, rear-view mirrors and detailing. As for weather protection, a powered burgundy soft top seamlessly rises into view when called for, protecting the occupants from the sun and rain. The custom interior of this 1954 Ford Crestline Sunliner Convertible Restomod takes on a burgundy theme and includes some classic Stewart Warner gauges, including a tachometer. A Vintage Air air conditioning and heating system is present, as is a restored original radio with FM reception and even a CD changer! A power antenna is present too, ensuring seamless radio reception.

Engine

This 1954 Ford Crestline Sunliner Convertible Restomod comes with a 381ci V8, which is actually a 351 that’s been bored 30ci over. It’s paired with a 4-barrel carburetor and uses MSD electronic ignition. Power goes to the rear wheels through a Tremec 5-speed manual gearbox and a Ford 9-inch Posi differential. You’ve also got power steering and power disc brakes for a thoroughly modernized and easy driving experience. All that means this is one sweet car to own and drive.

Crestline represented the top-line variant of Ford’s 1952 Ford range, sitting above the Customline and Mainline variants. Yes, naming sequences in those days were a little different. On top of that, the Crestline could be had in Victoria (2-door hardtop), the aptly-named Sunliner (two-door convertible) or Country Squire station wagon body styles. So, you can glean that today’s 1953 Ford Crestline Victoria is a two-door hardtop, then. Coming from Troutdale, Oregon, this Fifties beauty hides some modern mechanicals and creature comforts.

1995 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Supercharged

VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$23,999

This 1995 Ford Mustang GT Convertible is what happens when a clean SN95 cruiser is transformed into a genuinely serious street machine. While the chassis shows 99,658 miles, the seller reports that the heavily upgraded drivetrain is substantially fresher, with approximately 2,000 miles on the built 347 stroker V8 and fewer than 750 miles on the professionally built transmission. Finished in factory-correct Laser Red Metallic over Saddle with a matching Saddle soft top, this Mustang retains classic mid-1990s convertible charm while packing performance figures that would embarrass many modern muscle cars. With a dyno-reported output of over 450 horsepower at the wheels and more than 510 lb-ft of torque, this is not a casual bolt-on build—it’s a purposefully assembled forced-induction street car for enthusiasts who appreciate old-school supercharged V8 brutality.
