Pickup trucks are utilitarian beasts designed to support busy professionals while offering the versatility and flexibility to haul any cargo unhindered by the constraints a normal car or SUV would have. But clearly, the designers at Chevrolet didn’t think pickups had to be boring machines lacking character. How can we be so sure? One look at this 1955 Chevrolet 3100 will give you all the evidence you need. The 1955 Chevrolet 3100 not only retains its original good looks and styling, but the build has focused on making this classic pickup as usable today as it would have been when new. As such, you’ll find a few modern appointments to keep this 3100 in line with the times.
Perhaps the first giveaway that this 1955 Chevrolet 3100 is something out of the ordinary is the bright red shade that the truck has been repainted in. With an enviable squat stance, this truck is bound to turn heads. It sits on a set of 18-inch custom wheels wrapped in Nitto tires. The front and rear feature chrome bumpers, while there’s an Oakwood-lined bed at the back. Inside the cabin, you’ll find an interior that has been completely restored. The process involved trimming the seats in red leather and adding comfort and convenience features. The foremost upgrade is the audio system—the new system features components from JBL, a subwoofer from Kicker, and Bluetooth functionality. A vintage A/C air conditioning system keeps the cabin temperatures in check. The driver gets a small-diameter chrome-plated steering wheel, while the truck’s sweeping 100mph speedometer also includes readouts for other engine vitals.
Under the hood is a 6.2L V8 LS6 engine bolted to a 5-speed Tremec manual transmission to deliver power to the rear wheels. The front end has been upgraded with Mustang 2 suspension and front disc brakes. A new exhaust system is also reported, while power steering ensures that driving this truck around town is kept straight and easy.

Chevy’s Task Force series of pickup trucks debuted in 1955, and is the predecessor of the C/K series, which subsequently morphed into the Silverado. Hence, this 1959 Chevrolet 3100 is a forefather of today’s Chevy Silverado full-size pickup trucks. Fresh off a comprehensive restoration, this example has just 15,000 miles since the build, and comes with all servicing up to date. Two keys are also included with the sale of this stunner, making it an excellent restomod to own, drive, and cherish.
The Chevy Task Force was the Bowtie’s standard pickup truck offering between 1955 and 1959. Taking over from the Advance Design series, the Task Force is the predecessor of the C/K-Series, that is now known as the Silverado. So, the series is an important one in American pickup truck history. That’s why you’ll find Task Force trucks to be excellent classic vehicles, especially if you want something out of the ordinary. If that sounds like you, we’ve got a lovely 1956 Chevrolet Truck up for sale with under 39,000 miles on the odometer. However, you’d better act fast, as vehicles like this don’t stick around for long.
Even though pickup trucks were far more utilitarian back in the ’50s, they still had a popular following. While they may not have offered the same blend of off-road ability and on-road comfort as today’s options, trucks like the 1959 Chevrolet Apache Pickup were known for their reliability and ruggedness. Originally known as the Chevrolet Task Force series of trucks, in 1958 the company changed the names of their lineup. The light-duty series, as is featured here, adopted the “Apache” moniker, along with a redesign of the front end. Our featured truck appears to be in excellent condition for a workhorse of its age. It has a 235ci I6 engine under the hood and a manual transmission.

The Chevrolet Tahoe is the Bowtie brand’s full-size SUV offering. Since 1992, the Tahoe has represented a go-anywhere sport utility vehicle that could carry the average American family across the country in comfort, dog and all. With excellent off-road credentials, the Tahoe could take the path less travelled, too. Now we’re on the fifth generation, but there are some fantastic older ones available too. Take this first-generation 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe LT as a prime example. Extensively modified, this off-road ready beast has a significant 265,000 miles on the clock but don’t let that put you off. It’s been well looked after, and in your care, can easily double or even triple that mileage without major woes.
