Original or not, does it really matter? This 1965 Shelby Cobra Replica, built by Superformance as a 2002 model replicates the same thrill and joy you get from the legendary 1965 Shelby Cobra. Developed by Carroll Shelby, a racing driver, who was surprised by the speed of the AC Ace during the Le Mans race in 1959. He retired from racing after a few years, wanting to build a race car of his own, and this is what he had in mind. A Ford Windsor 221 engine was mounted into an AC Ace chassis shipped from England, and within just eight hours, the legendary Cobra was brought to life. A.k.a ‘The Turd’ as nicknamed by Ken Miles, the Shelby Cobras have been brilliant machines that everyone must at least experience once in their life. This particular model we have today has undergone an engine rebuild on the 427ci V8 engine, clocking less than 5,000 miles as reported by the current owner.
What did the fastest accelerating road car for over 20 years since 1965 have? The coolest ever side exhausts, and this replica has it to original specification. If that is not attention seeking enough, this 1965 Cobra replica is dressed in a bright red exterior with the iconic white stripes, a rare sight as most of these come in a blue hue. The shiny chrome alloy wheels are fitted with new BF Goodrich radial tires as reported by the current owner, which are equipped with some powerful ventilated disc brakes with 4-pot calipers to bring this beast to a halt. The body is made out of hand laid fiberglass panels with steel tube reinforcements in all openings. The muffler and tailpipes are custom made with stainless extensions. Inside the black cockpit, you have the classic wooden steering wheel, long gear stick and some quality Superformance carpets. The speedometer has been newly reinstalled, along with the starter as reported by the current owner. It’s not the most spacious cabin, but with a 427ci V8 engine sitting in front, you will also be smiling behind the wheel.
A Ford Racing 427ci V8 engine that has been balanced and blueprinted breathes under the hood, being recently rebuilt it outputs a staggering amount of power that will propel you from 0 to 60 mph in around 4 seconds. Ensuring maximum power, the engine has been upgraded with Le Mans rods and Dual-Quad Holley 600CFM carburetors. This 1965 Shelby Cobra replica comes with rack and pinion steering along with independent suspension with unequal length A-arms with adjustable coils over telescopic shock absorbers in the front and with fabricated hub carriers and coil over shock absorbers in the rear. The clutch, master cylinder, and battery are all new as reported by the current owner. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec 5-Speed manual, in true muscle car fashion.

The Shelby Cobra is one of those cars that just screams raw personality. It’s a beast in every sense of the word, with this simple yet fawned-over design the template for many replicas, fulfilling the unprecedented demand these cars have conjured. Our featured car is a replica of a 1967 Shelby Cobra. This 2010 AC Cobra replica was built by Shell Valley. And, like most replicas, the approach to personalization is off the charts. This car features a stroked 351ci V8 engine, with the total displacement now standing at 418ci, with an output reported at 500hp. The engine really is the star of this car, with less than 1,000 miles of running reported by the current owner since it was rebuilt. You also get a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission with a shortened 9-inch rear end with a 350.1 ratio. Then there’s an upgraded Ford Racing 4-wheel disc brake system, too, for added stopping power.
The original Shelby Cobra, actually called the AC Cobra, is a British-American collaboration that came together to give the automotive world something truly wondering. AC Cars (Britain) and Carroll Shelby (American) are the two main parties in this enthralling story that would see an American V8 stuffed into a diminutive British roadster, creating something that scared nearly everyone who dared drive it as hard as possible. Less than a thousand original Cobras were made, which means that the replica market is booming. After all, the beauty of a replica is that you can customize it accordingly. Enter this 1965 Shelby Cobra Replica, that’s reportedly a race car style build of a Gen 1 Cobra. And now, this 10,000-mile beast can be yours!

Arguably, the best and worst thing about the Shelby Cobra is that they just didn’t produce enough of them. Original cars, designed by AC of the UK and enhanced by Shelby America, are so sought after today that their pricing is now in the stratosphere. Thankfully, there are some dedicated replica manufacturers out there that will get you as close to the original at a fraction of the cost. In this case, say hello to the 1965 Shelby Cobra Backdraft Racing. Backdraft Racing is renowned for its Cobra reproductions, and this car is a beauty. In addition to its stunning looks, capped off with a Steel Grey exterior, you’ll find some choice elements in play, too. Under the hood lies a 351ci V8 engine that has been breathed upon with parts from Edelbrock and Holley. You get independent coilover suspension and some nice wheels. Plus, an interior to die for. With a reported 3,000 miles on the clock, this Shelby Cobra is exceedingly tempting.
With Jaguar Cars recently rebranding to mixed reactions from auto enthusiasts, it’s a great time to remind ourselves of their greatest hits from the past. One of these is the XJS grand tourer. Produced between 1975 and 1996, the XJS is widely regarded as one of the most iconic Jags ever made. Its flying buttresses and grunty V12 engine all make for a superb driving experience, and one heck of a weekend cruiser. That’s why we’re glad to offer this 1992 Jaguar XJS V12. The car has covered 94,231 miles so far, and has reportedly undergone some recent maintenance.
Chevy’s fourth generation Corvette ran between 1984 and 1996, and was responsible for a major shift in America’s favorite sports car’s persona. The Corvette gained new, angular styling, a digital-style dashboard, more power, and enhanced handling. Mercifully, the much-loved pop-up headlamps were retained. Then, a high-performance variant called the ZR1 was introduced in 1990. The ZR1 drew heavily from Britain’s Lotus sports car maker. Enhancements included a new LT5 V8 engine, larger brakes and sportier suspension tuning. This makes the fourth-generation ZR1 one of the most sought-after neo-classic Corvettes. Here’s a great example up for grabs right now, a 1991 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with just 69,000 miles on the clock. It’s got a rebuilt engine, while all info is as reported by the current owner.
