The third-generation El Camino shared its styling with the Chevelle and was updated to mimic the passenger car’s looks for the 1971 model year. Our featured example is a 1971 Ford El Camino powered by a rebuilt 350ci V8 engine, which has undergone a host of new parts and maintenance.
Exterior and Interior
For the 1971 model year, the Chevrolet El Camino got a new front end, swapping the dual headlight arrangement for more powerful single units. Other changes made for 1971 include a new grille and bumper, as well as changes to the parking, signal, and marker lights. Our featured car is painted in a deep shade of blue and features traditional white stripes over the top. You’ll also notice hood pins, as well as the famed SS badging on the grille and front fenders. The bumpers and trim are reported to be new. The car sits on a set of American Racing five-spoke wheels wrapped in brand-new tires.
