Background Story of this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle

Overview of 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle For Sale by Owner

There’s a good deal of iconic names when it comes to the original muscle car era. One of those is the Chevelle, especially the SS that stands for Super Sport. What’s interesting is that the birth of the Chevelle was in 1964, and at that time, the muscle car era was not in full swing yet. By the end of the first generation Chevelle, which was 1967 things were getting up to speed. Many believe that the second-generation Chevelle is the sweet spot. This stunning example of the 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS that is located in North Carolina is your ticket to experience it firsthand.

Exterior and Interior

Bathed with red paint and adorned with black decal dual striping on the hood and trunk, this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is a major head-turner. It flaunts the cowl hood up front and aftermarket mufflers coupled with dual exhausts to give you that mighty grunt of its V8 engine. The car rides on a set of 15" American Racing wheels and BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. Inside the front wheels, you can find power disc brakes, while at the back, there are power drum brakes. The rear axle is a 12 bolt that gives you less parasitic loss from the friction caused as the gears mesh. The interior of this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS takes you back to the ‘70s muscle car era with a straightforward design. It is fitted with bucket seats at the front and a rear seat that offers space for four adults. This cabin features vintage A/C and AM/FM/ AUX radio/stereo. The classic style steering wheel can be operated easily thanks to power steering and the updated gauge cluster tells you important performance information.

Engine

This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is reportedly motivated by a 396ci V8 engine that is mated to a TH400 automatic 3-speed transmission. This engine is equipped with an Edelbrock Performance intake, Patriot headers, and an aluminum radiator.

1973 Chevrolet C20 Cheyenne

VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$22,000

This 1973 Chevrolet Cheyenne C20 Super Pickup isn’t your typical third-gen C/K Series classic pickup truck. It may have the stock 454ci V8 under the hood, which was the largest gas engine available for this era, but there’s a host of mods to make it a beast. These include aftermarket lifters, rockers, pushrod, exhaust, and more. With a nice coat of black paint and some aftermarket wheels, this truck even includes a banging stereo system for those tailgate parties, on the trails, or in town. It’s currently up for grabs in Castle Rock, Washington, with under 35,000 miles to its name. Don’t delay if you’re interested; many others will be too.

1974 Chevrolet Corvette

VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$23,999

This 1974 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, in all its orange glory, comes from an era of resilience. The C3 or third-gen ‘Vette is the longest-running of them all, with a fourteen-year production run between 1968 and 1982. Cars like this one are historically significant because they weathered the most dreaded time in American auto history; the Malaise Era. Even during those times, the Corvette was still the fastest American car available. Now, you can see why, when you take a closer look at this 24,000-mile machine from Island Lake, Illinois. It’s a survivor, a stunning looker, and above all, never compromised on engines by always having a V8 beneath the hood. So why not buy this beautiful boulevard cruiser and stick it to today’s soulless EVs?

1959 Buick Invicta

VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$59,999

One of the shortest-lived nameplates in Buick history has got to be the Invicta. In fact, this full-size offering packed in two generations within just five years. The first generation ran for 1959 and 1960, while the second was made from 1961 to 1963. Given the car’s short production run, it’s no surprise that the market isn’t awash with examples. Thankfully, we have this 53,667-mile 1959 Buick Invicta for sale today. With its 401ci V8 and automatic gearbox, this Miami-based classic is the perfect choice for someone seeking an unconventional automobile to cherish, and of course, drive.

1985 Cadillac Seville Classic

VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$29,999

Cadillac may be best known for their massively opulent land yachts that really pushed the boundaries of full-size cars, but did you know that they had smaller options? In fact, they still do. Between 1976 and 2004, their midsize luxury car was the Seville. Named after a Spanish province renowned for art and architecture, today’s 1985 Cadillac Seville comes from the second generation of the nameplate. It’s got only 13,272 miles on its 4.1-liter throttle body injected V8, and features a four-speed automatic transmission. Interestingly, the car is front-wheel drive, as was typical back in the day. If you’d like to acquire this rather interesting piece of Eighties Americana, it’s currently up for grabs in Fountain Inn, South Carolina.
