Overview of 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible For Sale by Owner

A third-gen or C3 Corvette like this 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is an adventure that will enrich your life to no end. It’s from the era where the Corvette gained muscular, concept-car inspired looks, backed by solid V8 power that even endured through the Malaise Era. Today’s example comes with a Medium Blue Metallic coat of paint, aftermarket headers and mufflers for its 350ci V8 and a 4-speed manual box. It’s got 390 horsepower to give, we’re told, and you can deploy it from the driver’s seat of a classic Saddle-colored two-seat interior. What’s more, this drop-top ‘Vette comes with 2,089 miles on the clock, the original sales paperwork and service receipts too.

Exterior and Interior

The C3 Corvette was a hit as soon as it landed on showroom floors. Based on an earlier concept called the Mako Shark II, Bill Mitchell, Corvette Chief Stylist at the time more or less kept the concept as-is for the production C3. That’s what you see here with this Medium Blue Metallic 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible and all its features such as the white convertible soft top, pop-up headlamps, luggage rack and muscular flanks. The car also comes with the factory removable hardtop that lets you enjoy more robust weather protection during Winter. And it’s got those signature white-letter tires on classic alloy wheels for a period correct stance. The Saddle interior of this 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible can easily take two adults in comfort. It’s got an aftermarket radio that mimics the look of the car’s original head unit, but otherwise, everything else remains stock. With its frameless doors and drop-top nature, this car is a lovely classic to cruise in, and can easily take you on a long trip across the country if the desire strikes.

Engine

This 1973 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has a 350ci V8 under the hood. Thanks to several aftermarket additions, we’re told that it’s rated for a rather fine 390 horsepower. These additions include a Holley 650CFM 4-barrel carburetor, aftermarket headers, and aftermarket mufflers. You’ve got a 4-speed manual transmission at your service, to send power to those rear wheels. The car also comes with aftermarket trailing arms, rear sway bar and shocks. Plus, it’s got power steering for easier low-speed maneuvering and parking.
