The Chevrolet C/K series of pickup trucks will forever go down in history as an American establishment. This workmanlike series of trucks is responsible for helping millions of Americans enrich their livelihoods. The C/K series is no longer around, as the Silverado succeeded it. Hence, it's become a desirable classic and a legacy of the American spirit. A shining example of that spirit can be found in this 1991 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado 454 SS. As you slide behind the wheel of this 49,678-mile example, you'll realize that, hey, there are some luxury features too. And that's before we get into what's under the hood. Read on to discover why it's worthy of serious consideration and a place in your garage.
Wearing a straight black coat, this 1991 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado 454 SS has stood the test of time, thirty-two years to be exact. It's got a nice set of polished and dished wheels that we observe to be wearing BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. The front features the signature stacked dual headlamps that were introduced for the fourth generation of the C/K series, replete with dual indicator lamps. You've also got the red bowtie Chevy emblem proudly placed at the center of the grille. Atop all this sits an aftermarket hood with dual scoops. As if all this isn't enough, there's even a set of smaller fog lamps in the front bumper. Come to the side, and your eye will immediately be drawn to the 454 SS decals, telling you that there's a brawny powerplant on offer. Inside, you'll find a red cloth interior with two seats, split by a center console box with cup holders. There are some surprising luxury features to be found within this truck, stuff you just wouldn't expect on a pickup truck from the Eighties and Nineties. Let's start with the climate control system that features a VFD display. Then, there are power windows and power door locks. Finally, we find a premium Delco head unit with an auto-reverse cassette tape player and even a five-band equalizer. Surprising, indeed, for a pickup truck.
This 1991 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 454 SS packs a 7.4L 454ci V8 under its hood, which is more than enough to provide all the performance you'd want. The current owner reports that it's received new headers and exhales through a dual exhaust set-up. The drive is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic gearbox with a limited-slip rear differential.
Performance and practicality are two elements of motoring that, at most times, don't get along, that is, until you have been behind the wheel of a performance truck. Present today is this 2023 Chevrolet Silverado Yenko. It's a performance truck from every aspect and features Yenko specs by the folks over at specialty vehicle engineering. What's better? This practical performance machine has a reported mileage of just 7,300 miles on its clock and has a dealer-installed Dark Essentials package, Max Trailering package, and Technology package.
We have heard of the many creations that come out of the great factory of Hennessey Performance in the state of Texas. Combining the power of forced induction and superior off road performance, the mad scientists at Hennessey Performance have created the best of both worlds into one beast. Since 2017, the American company Hennessey Performance has been responsible for two 6x6 truck giants: the Ford VelociRaptor 6×6 and the Chevrolet Silverado Goliath 6×6. Our focus here is on the latter beast, which is based on the Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss Z71. Hennessey only produced 24 examples of the Goliath 6x6, making it a rare behemoth to own. It is basically a Silverado on steroids with new and upgraded everything. The example shown here is a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Hennessey Goliath 6x6 with serial number 02 and only 10,130 miles on its clock.
In the world of performance trucks, PaxPower has earned the respect and admiration of many. While best known for their take on Ford trucks and SUVs, with their Jackal conversions, they have also tackled some of the most popular trucks from Chevrolet: the Silverados. Our featured Truck started life as a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss before it was converted with a Jackal Stage 3 upgraded by the team at PaxPower. The kit upgrades almost every aspect of the truck, increasing power, improving ride quality, and adding to the truck’s off-road capabilities. Our featured truck is available with just 8,500 miles and features a 6.2-liter V8 engine under the hood. If you’re looking for a high-performance truck from General Motors that can do battle with the likes of the Ford F-150 Raptor, then this could be the machine for you.
Considering an eighth generation Corvette? We don’t blame you; Chevy’s sweetheart sports car is now a fearsome, baby supercar chaser. With its fighter-jet looks, mid-mounted V8, and capable handling, the C8 is a serious driver’s car. Yet, when you need, it can be as docile as a pussycat, as comfortable as any other car, and can even perform daily driving duties without so much as a grumble. That’s got to be reason enough to give this 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible 3LT Z51 70th Anniversary Edition a new home. Want another reason? The car’s got under 3,000 miles on it. If you’re still on the fence, let us tell you a bit about this car.
Have you ever wondered what a 1930s Chevy would be like? Well, wonder no more, because we’ve got a 1939 Chevrolet Master 85 Coupe Restomod for one lucky buyer to get their mitts on. The Chevrolet Master series was introduced in 1933 and ran until 1942. It was available as a two-door coupe, a two-door cabriolet, a two-door pickup truck and a four-door sedan. The first two body styles included an external rumble seat too, for transporting passengers whom you didn’t truly like, but couldn’t decline either. Thankfully, this particular 1939 Chevrolet Master 85 Coupe Restomod doesn’t appear to have that, and everyone sits within its protected passenger cabin. The car has undergone a full restoration, and includes a healthy dose of modern parts too, hence the restomod tag.
People remember the Chevrolet El Camino for one major reason. That reason is the fact that the El Camino is a coupe utility, or ute. The front half is that of a car; the rear half is a pickup truck. However, the El Camino isn’t a rough-riding body-on-frame vehicle. The second generation, from which this 1965 Chevrolet El Camino hails, is adapted from the midsize Chevy Chevelle platform. So, you can expect a suitably car-like ride and handling characteristics, but still get a decent amount of payload capacity thanks to the vehicle’s truck bed. This 90,000-mile 1965 Chevrolet El Camino has received some refurbishment work, and notably, it’s said to have been owned by one family all its life. That makes it a wonderful classic to buy and enjoy.
Today, the GMC Sierra 1500 is known as quite a sizeable light-duty pickup, but it started its life as a much different square-body pickup. The early GMC Sierra shared its platform with the Chevrolet C/K, offering a silhouette that has been embedded in American car culture. Our featured car has been extensively upgraded, but visually and under the hood. This 1986 GMC C1500 Sierra Classic features a monster of a motor powering it: a blueprinted 355ci V8 Crate engine. With a reported 21,500 miles, this stunning pickup could be a brilliant addition to anyone’s automotive arsenal.
Jeep is widely known for its go-anywhere off-roaders. But did you know that this prolific brand also makes pickup trucks? The Gladiator is their pickup truck offering these days, but the Commanche was the man of the moment between 1985 and 1992. Produced with multiple bed lengths, and two- or four-wheel drive choices, the Commanche became a Jeep staple during its time. Many buyers appreciated how it offered the signature Jeep off-road experience but could easily carry heavy loads for work purposes. If you’d like to have a Commanche in your life, this 175,273-mile 1988 Jeep Commanche is a great place to start. It’s got a rebuilt engine and comes with a few cosmetic tweaks, too.
The 90s brought some of the most iconic motors to life; the Japanese had their range of performance machines, the Europeans had their M spec and AMG machines, and over in the US, machines like the GMC Syclone stole the show. With its unassuming features and high performance, the GMC Syclone kicked off the performance truck craze that is still present today and is a hot seller for many manufacturers. Present here is this 1991 GMC Syclone that is only 1 if 2,998 total Syclones produced. This classic American performance machine is a time capsule from the '90s and is reported to be an all-original example with a documented 73,500 miles on the clock.
