Few nameplates are as iconic as that of the Ford Thunderbird. A car that married sporting intent with luxury, the Thunderbird soon carved out a niche for itself and appeared in a number of body styles throughout its many generations. The Ford Thunderbird was made between 1955 and 1997 across ten generations, and redefined the Personal Luxury Car for Americans. Ford’s association with Shelby and resultant Shelby Mustangs was resurrected in 2008, after a long hiatus.
