Willys-Overland, makers of the original World War II military Jeep knew that with the War ending, they’d have to turn to civilian vehicles. Hence the arrival of the Jeep CJ series in 1944. The series progressed from CJ-1 to CJ-10A, in a production run that spanned 1944 and 1986, and by the time the Jeep CJ was replaced by the Wrangler, Jeep had built over 1.5 million examples.
