A true underdog story in the motoring world is the Japanese automobile manufacturer Subaru. Subaru rose from a manufacturer that had nothing to be the 21st largest automaker in 2017. What made them so popular is their ethos of producing affordable sports cars with impressive off-road capabilities and AWD, even on many of their regular variants. Arguably the one car that changed Subaru’s status is the Subaru Impreza, which racked up win after win in the WRC, and thus Subaru's name had been cemented in the rallying world. What we do have is a limited edition 2016 Subaru WRX STI Hyper Blue with just 14,600 miles on the clock and available to be seen in the Buckeye State, Ohio.

The 2016 Subaru WRX STI Hyper Blue was released as a special edition model in the US with just 700 units shipped to the US, of which this car is one of them. This WRX is finished in the electric Hyper Blue color, reminiscent of the ’80s and ‘90s rally scene with Subaru and a ceramic coating has been applied to protect the paint. Out of the factory the car came out with a set of 18” BBS blacked-out wheels, which have been replaced by a set of Option Lab 19” 10-spoke wheels, the original set will be included in the sale as well. Special to the Hyper Blue edition is the gloss black badges, mirror housings, and black STI badges on the front fenders. The interior of the car is finished off in black leather with blue contrast stitching, Alcantara seats are also part of the package. It also features a 7” multimedia system with navigation paired to a set of nine-speaker Harman Kardon stereo systems. A car cover and 2 keys are also given with the car.

This 2016 Subaru WRX STI Hyper Blue lives up to the STI name. Starting with the 305 horsepower, 2.5L, turbocharged, four-cylinder “boxer” engine which can spit out 290 lb. ft of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, which is the only available transmission option. The car comes with the Subaru Intelligent Drive which can improve and assist in driving with the selection of one of the three driving modes. An Axelback exhaust with lowering springs is also present. For that unmistakable sound, a blow-off valve is also installed.

Cars with character are slowly becoming a thing of the past; regulations call for machines stripped of what makes them driver cars, and changing customer tastes mean popular marques are slowly making their way off the production lines. Present today is this 2017 Subaru WRX STI. Hailing from Clayton, North Carolina, this Japanese weapon of performance is the perfect drag-strip dasher, track weapon, or even the perfect way to take on the great outdoors in style.

A track-ready weapon means just that: a machine that's ready for track and nothing else. But what if there was a way around it, what if you could drive your machine to the track, negotiate those apex with precision and speed, and then head on home with the same machine you experienced driving nirvana in? If this is what you are looking for, look no further: this heavily-ugraded 2017 Subaru WRX STI has over 29,000 miles on its clock and is a machine ready for battle on the track and to take you back home as well.

Performance motors come in all shapes and forms. It’s David from David and Goliath here today with us. This gutsy little Matte Gray 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI packs a punch that can literally take down giants from several classes above. But that’s been the Subaru Impreza WRX STI’s forte since it launched way back in 1992. Today’s example comes with some superb modifications that really take it into a new level of performance. The current owner reports that the car is a garage kept, single owner car with all records and paperwork available. This includes records of not only oil changes and maintenance items, but all the mods done to this 143,000-mile machine from Cary, North Carolina. Oh, and dyno tests reportedly show nearly 500 horses at the wheels! Could you ask for more Japanese hot hatch perfection? We doubt it…
