One of the most iconic cars of the 20th century is the Ford Bronco. Its introduction in 1965 took the motoring world by storm. The Bronco was made to compete with the likes of the JEEP CJ5, International Harvester Scout, and Toyota Land Cruiser. It was offered as a Sports Utility Vehicle with a very capable off-road drivetrain. With a new version of Bronco around the corner, interest in the original production run of the Bronco is increasing. Our subject vehicle is a 1971 Ford Bronco and reportedly “runs great” as per the owner. It is available for inspection in Texas.
Draped in an inconspicuous Satin Green, this 1971 Ford Bronco rides on a set of Pacer off-road wheels, which are wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler MT/R rubber. The front is mounted with a bull bar and a pair of KC fog lights. The rear also sports a bull bar. The interior is relatively spartan with barely any modifications. An FM/ CD player is offered in the way of in-car entertainment. This Bronco features a Grant GT steering wheel to maneuver the vehicle whether on the road or off the road. A custom roll cage has been installed and painted the same as the exterior in Satin Green. Enabling the extra ride height is a 6” James Duff lift.
The original Ford Bronco came in the basic 170ci to the 302ci small-block V8 engine. This Bronco has the 302ci V8 producing 200hp. The engine is mated to a rare 3-speed “on the floor” transmission. A Holly carburetor is installed, which helps with the engine performance.
The off-roading world mourned when Ford announced the discontinuation of their beloved Bronco in 1996. This was after its fifth generation, and no one thought there would be a sixth. However, it was reintroduced in 2020 amidst the ovation of off-roading enthusiasts. Bearing styling and technology of the modern world, the Bronco stays true to its essence, a rugged off-roading machine. This 2022 Ford Bronco Outer Banks 4x4 is a great example that comes to you with a few optional packages. Reports reveal that it has under 40,000 miles on its odometer, and it awaits its new buyer in Tecumseh, Michigan.
