Background Story of this 1955 Ford Fairlane

Overview of 1955 Ford Fairlane For Sale by Owner

In response to the rising competition from Chevy and Plymouth, the 1955 Ford underwent new body styling and enhancements beneath the surface to keep it relevant. It was available in several body styles, such as two and four-door sedans, station wagons, coupes, convertibles, and hardtops. Presently on sale is a 1955 Ford Club Sedan in a two-door configuration, which reportedly underwent a complete restoration, complete with documentation. The current owner also claims that before-and-after photos are available upon request. If you desire to experience a slice of Fifties motoring, this car represents one of the finest ways to do so, and investing in it will prove to be wise in the future.

Exterior and Interior

The pastel shades of blue and white that adorn this 1955 Ford Club Sedan are distinctly emblematic of the Fifties, a refreshing departure from the somber black and dark colors of the Forties. This car exudes a lively personality, from its inviting front facade to its whitewall tires and signature rear fins. A pair of tailpipes at the rear allow the robust engine to sing its tune. We did observe minor rust spots on the bumpers, but they are easily remedied with competent re-chroming. Inside, the cabin seats up to four adults and continues the theme of blue and white hues. A heater is reportedly present, but air conditioning is not. However, adding such comforts is a simple retrofit if desired. The push-button radio is neatly installed in the dash, with an additional set of auxiliary gauges mounted beneath, including a subtle tachometer. There also appears to be an aftermarket center armrest with dual cupholders separating the front seats. A glimpse in the trunk reveals a well-appointed area with dark blue carpeting and the spare tire neatly tucked away to one side.

Engine

It has been reported that this 1955 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan is equipped with a 302ci (5.0L) V8 engine located under its hood, which delivers power to the rear wheels through a manual transmission. The owner has stated that the car has rear drum brakes, which suggests that the front brakes may be disc brakes for improved stopping performance.
