The Ford Mustang is as ubiquitous as American Cheese and Hollywood glamour. The ultimate pony car has been in production since 1965, and it is safe to say it will probably be there when our great-grandkids are born. This puts the Mustang in a very unique position where the brand is popular enough that it has become common. To rectify this, the American performance manufacturer Saleen Inc introduced the Ford Mustang Saleen S281 3V, based on a 2005 Ford Mustang. Exterior and Interior
The Saleen designation on this 2005 Ford Mustang Saleen S281 3V is not just the mechanical aspects of it. In fact, this Mustang Saleen boasts an uber-brilliant Performance White Clearcoat finish. Saleen does a complete overhaul of the Mustangs body which includes a custom front fascia that boasts a clean design with the Saleen badge on the custom black-painted grille along with the custom turn signals. The sides feature a custom side skirt with minimalistic Saleen decals and Saleen badging. A major change from the stock Mustang is the rear, where it uses center-located rectangular dual exhaust tips reminiscent of the McLaren F1 and of course, the Saleen decals on the bumper. It sits on a set of white painted 7-spoke wheels with chrome Saleen centers. The interior is finished in a contrasting Dark Charcoal with leather appointments. Access to the interior is greeted by the custom Saleen door sills. Saleen customization goes in further with Saleen badging on the dash, Saleen branded black-faced gauges, a 3-spoke steering wheel with a Saleen center in black and red, and white Saleen stitching for the front bucket seats and rear seats. Engine
The 2005 Ford Mustang features a 4.6L Modular V8 engine coupled with either an automatic or a manual.
