Up for sale is this 1966 Ford Mustang Coupe with 60’s styling and a new red finish. A straight body and new chrome show off the slick lines of this true American classic. The distinct wire wheels are new and topped off with brand new tires. This first generation Mustang was slotted in the compact car category but the 289 Ford small block packs big power. Designed by legendary engineers David Ash and Gale Halderman, the Mustang was the next step up from the Falcon and Fairlane set.
This example is completely rebuilt and ready for another 60 years of hitting the road. New exhaust, new seats and a repainted motor are just a few of the updated details. Black racing stripes line the body’s lower third and unify the whole look. The interior is remade and restored with red carpeting and new black upholstery. A wood and chrome steering wheel sits right in the middle next to a Hawley shifter.
The Mustang’s engine is where its legacy lies. The Windsor HiPo V8 is rated at 271 brake horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 312 lp-ft of torque. So much power is packed into the small block. New disc brakes have been installed in the front for better stopping power at speed. The ‘66 Mustang coupe features a 1 inch thick vibration damper for a smoother ride on not-smooth roads. This Mustang has been updated and rebuilt while still keeping the classic high performance features that made it one of the most iconic cars of the 60’s.
