Overview of 1927 Ford Model T Coupe For Sale by Owner

Colloquially known as the “Tin Lizzie”, the Ford Model T was the world’s first mass-produced, affordable automobile. This was the vehicle that made travel by car available to middle-class Americans. It was produced through an assembly line instead of individual handcrafting, which brought the price down from $780 in 1910 to $290 in 1924. Adjusted for inflation, it’s still an impressive $5000 in modern-day money. Of course, you don't get air conditioning or an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, but for an almost 100-year-old car, the Ford Model T was truly a bargain for its time. Rightfully, the Model T was also named the most influential car of the 20th century and was also the most-sold car in history till 1972 before being surpassed by the Volkswagen Beetle. This particular coupe model has been restored from the ground up and presents you with an opportunity to own one of the most iconic cars in human history for sale in Chesterfield, Virginia.

Exterior and Interior

This restored 1927 Ford Model T Coupe comes draped in coats of Burgundy and Black paint. The thin tires are wrapped around classic wooden rims with a chrome accent, which makes a great contrast to the body’s dark shades. You get a spare tire mounted on the rear, wrapped in a cover with the old Ford emblem. The grill and the headlamps come outlined in chrome, while the side mirrors are fully chrome. Inside this antique coupe, the upholstery comes in grey, covering the door panels to the seats and the headliner. You get a uniquely designed, robust wooden steering wheel and chrome door handles.

Engine

Under the hood of the legendary Ford Model T is a 177 cubic inch inline four-cylinder engine mated to a two-speed planetary gear system. The transmission is controlled with the three floor-mounted pedals, which were revolutionary at the time. This iconic rear-wheel drive machine was capable of producing 20 horsepower and reached a top speed of 42 mph. The engine was engineered to run mainly on gasoline, although it may have been able to run on other fuels such as kerosene and ethanol.
