Background Story of this 1927 Ford Model T

Overview of 1927 Ford Model T For Sale by Owner

Colloquially known as the “Tin Lizzie”, the Ford Model T was the world’s first mass-produced, affordable automobile. This was the vehicle that made travel by car available to middle-class Americans. It was produced through an assembly line instead of individual handcrafting, which brought the price down from $780 in 1910 to $290 in 1924. Adjusted for inflation, it’s still an impressive $5000 in modern-day money. Of course, you don't get air conditioning or an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, but for an almost 100-year-old car, the Ford Model T was truly a bargain for its time. Rightfully, the Model T was also named the most influential car of the 20th century and was also the most-sold car in history till 1972 before being surpassed by the Volkswagen Beetle. This particular coupe model has been restored from the ground up and presents you with an opportunity to own one of the most iconic cars in human history for sale in Chesterfield, Virginia.

Exterior and Interior

This restored 1927 Ford Model T Coupe comes draped in coats of Burgundy and Black paint. The thin tires are wrapped around classic wooden rims with a chrome accent, which makes a great contrast to the body’s dark shades. You get a spare tire mounted on the rear, wrapped in a cover with the old Ford emblem. The grill and the headlamps come outlined in chrome, while the side mirrors are fully chrome. Inside this antique coupe, the upholstery comes in grey, covering the door panels to the seats and the headliner. You get a uniquely designed, robust wooden steering wheel and chrome door handles.

Engine

Under the hood of the legendary Ford Model T is a 177 cubic inch inline four-cylinder engine mated to a two-speed planetary gear system. The transmission is controlled with the three floor-mounted pedals, which were revolutionary at the time. This iconic rear-wheel drive machine was capable of producing 20 horsepower and reached a top speed of 42 mph. The engine was engineered to run mainly on gasoline, although it may have been able to run on other fuels such as kerosene and ethanol.

Henry Ford revolutionized motoring for millions of Americans with the Model T. No, we’re not exaggerating, around 15 million were made during its 1903-1927 production run. As well as providing cheap and convenient transport to the masses, the Model T also brought about the modern automotive assembly line as we know it. Thanks to the ingenuity of Henry Ford and his engineers, the price of a Model T steadily fell, rather than rose, as the years rocked on. Today, you can still find a Model T, such as this 1926 Ford Model T which is for sale with some extra parts and manuals included. So, if you want the ultimate vintage car, and something that will truly make you appreciate how far the American automobile has come in the past century or so, this car is the place to start. It’s also perfect for showing your digital-device-toting kids what the past was like well before the word computer became mainstream.

2002 Ford Thunderbird Deluxe

Current Ask
VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$22,500

The Ford Thunderbird was made between 1955 and 1997 across ten generations, and redefined the Personal Luxury Car for Americans. In fact, it created the segment, largely inspired by the Grand Tourers of Europe. So, in the 2000s, Ford was feeling a little misty eyed and decided to create a rose-tinted eleventh generation homage to this iconic nameplate. Enter the retro-modern Thunderbird that was made between 2002 and 2005. Styled by Jack Telnack, the car sat on the Ford DEW98 platform, used an engine from Jaguar (who Ford owned at the time), and marked a return to roots of sorts, in that it was a two-seater, just like the first generation. Over 68,000 examples were made, and we have one for sale. Say hello to this original owner, all-stock 2002 Ford Thunderbird from South Jordan, Utah, that’s got just 13,085 miles on the clock.

1950 Ford F-1

Current Ask
VERIFIED SELLER
PENDING SALE
$44,999

The famous Ford F-Series was born in 1948, as America was emerging into a post-war world of promise and prosperity. Now in the fourteenth generation, the F-Series has got to be the world’s longest-running truck series, if not one of the longest. Today, the F-150 is the most popular variant as the half-tonner, but if we look at the first generation, the range simply started with the F-1 as the half-ton variant. That’s what we have here, a 1950 Ford F-1 Restomod from Groveport, Ohio. It’s received a thorough makeover with a 350ci V8 under the hood, an automatic gearbox, a converted 12-volt electrical system and more. If you want to own a classic Ford truck that you can actually enjoy driving, this 78,000-mile machine is your best option.

Yes, that’s what we have for sale today, a rather unique 1969 Ford Mustang Restomod for sale from Royse City, Texas. It’s got a 5.2-liter Coyote Aluminator V8 under the hood, hooked up to a five-speed Tremec box and a Currie rear end. Yes, this pony has received a significant shot in the arm, or several. Few automobiles embody timeless elegance like the 1935 Packard Twelve 1208 Limousine, offered here by Exotic Car Trader. $48,995

The 1934 Ford Victoria belongs to Ford’s Model 40 line-up, introduced in 1933 as an update to the earlier 1932 models. Styled under Edsel Ford’s guidance rather than Henry himself, the Victoria was one of fourteen body styles available in the range, positioned as a more upscale option with a focus on comfort and style. Its flowing lines and enclosed cabin gave it a distinctively refined look compared to standard coupes and sedans. The example offered here shows 62,300 miles and features thoughtful upgrades, including drivability enhancements, making it a practical choice for vintage enthusiasts who still want to enjoy the open road.

Following the success of the Model T, the Model A brought a whole new dimension to the country’s history of cars.
