Overview of 1929 Ford Model A For Sale by Owner

The 1929 Ford Model A can be considered the great grandfather of all modern cars today. The first Ford to carry the famous blue oval logo and the successor to the legendary Ford Model T that put the world on wheels. Almost 5 million Model A units made it out of the manufacturing complexes, which really was not a surprise. Ford needed the police to send help to direct traffic around some 10 million people who lined up to see the new successor to the venerable Model T. It was more powerful, smooth, and faster than the Model T, capable of speeds of up to 65 mph. Triplex shatterproof safety windshield and hydraulic shocks came as a shock for the car aficionados of long ago as it was uncommon in the low-priced vehicle market, that it indeed became a sensation in the 1920s and it still is today. This particular model we have today has been fully restored back to its former glory, counting 98,600 miles on the odometer and fitted with original whitewall tires, this 1929 Ford Model A is a foregone showstopper.

Exterior and Interior

Influenced by Edsel Ford’s styling ideas, the only child of Henry Ford, they produced this charming 1929 Ford Model A with the beautiful bodylines that are draped in a light brown coat of paint, looking great in contrast with the tan soft top. Mounted on the original wheels in black and fitted with the thin original whitewall tires, the true look of this 95-year-old machine has been kept exactly the same. Inside, the contrast of the brown and tan of the exterior remains the same as with the Tweedle Brown interior. The doors are contoured with tan upholstery which includes a door pocket followed by chrome door handles. In the trunk are the rear seats, and yes, they are outside. So, if you plan on taking more than two passengers on a trip down the history lane of the cars that put the world on wheels, it is best you carry an extra umbrella in this 1929 “A-Model” Ford.

Engine

Breathing life into this pristine 1929 Ford Model A is the 200.5 cu in (3.3 L) inline-four engine that is water-cooled. It produced a whopping 40 horsepower and 174 Nm of torque, which was an impressive figure back in the day. Paired to 3 speed sliding gear manual transmission, this great grandfather of cars is a rear-wheel driven machine.
