Overview of 2002 Ford Thunderbird For Sale by Owner

A much sought-after classic from Ford is the Ford Thunderbird, or as it is fondly known, the T-Bird. The T-Bird was introduced in 1955 and was produced in 1997, then resurrected in 2002 until finally discontinued in 2005. Altogether Ford had over eleven generations of the Thunderbird. The first generation T-Bird was an opener, but the second generation is what made the car famous. When Ford resurrected the T-Bird in 2002, they were looking to capture the second generation's appeal and translate it to a modern design, which had borne mixed results from critics and enthusiasts. While the last generation of the T-Bird wasn't a great success, as only 68,098 were produced, they are still considered collectible, as is the case with this 2002 Ford Thunderbird Premium with just 376 miles on the odometer.

Exterior and Interior

This 2002 Ford Thunderbird Premium is painted in Evening Black, and the hardtop is also finished in the body color and features portholes on either side with chrome bezels. A set of chrome-clad OEM 7-spoke aluminum-clad wheels with the Thunderbird logo in the center graces the T-Bird. The front features a distinctive design with round headlights flanking the egg-crate chrome grille while the turn signal lights are surreptitiously embedded into the bumper. The rear is stark save for the chrome T-Bird logo and the silver-tipped tailpipes. On entry, you are greeted by a chrome door sill with embossed Ford and Thunderbird logos. The interior is finished in Midnight Black, and the reclining leather bucket seats feature heating. The car comes with the Black Appearance Package, which adds a high-gloss black accent to the leather-wrapped steering wheel and the automatic transmission gear selector. A silver trim piece runs from the dashboard to the doors. The passenger dash side features the Thunderbird script in the silver trim. An expensive feature, the 6-CD changer is also present in this T-Bird.

Engine

The 2002 Ford Thunderbird Premium comes powered with the same powerplant used in the Lincoln LS, the Jaguar-designed 3.9L V8 coupled to Ford's 5-speed automatic transmission. Altogether the T-Bird has a power output of 252hp and 267 lb.ft of torque.
