Fancy a Mercedes coupe with a BiTurbo V8, and 4 doors? The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 63 S may just be the car for you. Equipped with every conceivable piece of technology and enough horsepower to punch those rear passengers into their seats, this may be one of the best all-rounders Mercedes has made in recent years. And this particular car isn’t just any GT 63 S, it’s the Edition 1; which was made to mark the launch of the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, and comes with a range of exclusive elements on both the interior and the exterior, including the paintwork and the color of the leather.
The Edition 1 was exclusively available in Graphite Grey Magno with Magma Grey/Black nappa leather with yellow contrast topstitching and yellow seatbelts. The AMG Performance steering wheel has an “Edition 1” plaque at the bottom and a yellow 12 o’ clock marker. The yellow topstitching extends to the floormats as well, which are specific to the Edition 1 and have a leather band with “AMG” letters. Being an AMG, the seats are AMG Multicontour Performance Seats (with the memory package). This car also has the Driver Assistance package, the Parking Assist package, the Burmester High End 3D surround sound system, soft close doors and a power sliding panoramic roof. While a majority of the Edition 1’s special elements are on the interior, the exterior also has several design features that set it apart from the standard car: 21-inch matte black AMG cross-spoke forged wheels and matte Graphite Grey AMG sports stripes on the hood, roof, decklid and the sides (above the side sills). It also has AMG matte carbon fibre and the AMG Night package.
The important part in an AMG is under the hood, and this one packs a 630hp 4.0L BiTurbo V8, sending the power to the wheels via an AMG 9-speed transmission and the 4Matic all-wheel drive system. This drivetrain is capable of launching the GT 63 from 0-60mph in 3.1s and taking it all the way up to 195mph (as stated by the factory), while the handcrafted V8 sings through the AMG Performance exhaust system. With great power comes great resp- braking, and this is achieved by the AMG carbon ceramic braking system.

Mercedes-Benz’s G-Class is well-known as a tough and fierce off-roader that’s now become a sort of S-Class for off-roading in terms of comfort, tech, and luxury features. This wasn’t always the case, so let’s wind back the clock to the time when the G-Class was just entering the luxury space. This was the time when the W463 generation was entering the market, around 1990. Oh, and it’s got a V8 under the hood; need we say more?
